Craftsman Tool Storage (or I can do it by myself)

Craftsman Tool Storage (or I can do it by myself)

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_009H0027000B?vName=Tools&cName=Garage I have been “making do” with a Craftsman 26” x 16” rolling cabinet and 26” x 12 tool chest that was purchased in 1971 but, decided that after 38 years it was time for more tool storage. Initially looked at some of the stainless tool cabinets at both Sears and Lowe’s but finally selected the Craftsman 40” wide black steel set listed above because the 1971 Craftsman s...

Screw-Outs Don't Work

Screw-Outs Don't Work

http://www.craftsman.com/shc/s/p_10155_12602_00952154000P?keyword=52154&sLevel=0 LOML saw Bob Vs commercial and bought me a set a couple years ago. Today, 1/2” wood screws holding cabinet door hinges that have stripped out phillips heads. Guess what, Bob V can kiss my A$$! These things are supposed to bite into the screw and back it out, all they do is spin in the stripped head. Even tried an impact driver and nothing! This system won’t let me give -5 stars or I would!

Craftsman 21802 (10 in. Table Saw with Stand)

Craftsman 21802 (10 in. Table Saw with Stand)

40 days ago by michaeldmunro | 9 comments »

This being my first product review, I might miss some obvious things, but I’ll give it my best shot. At around $100, the Craftsman 21802 10 in. Table Saw is a good beginner’s saw. This is also my first table saw. I had no expectations other than when I was done I would be able to cut wood with it! The assembly was easy and I had it together in about 30 minutes or so. All the parts for the stands fit nice and everything lined up where it was supposed to. After assembly I set ...

Vintage Craftsman 1/3 Sheet Sander

Vintage Craftsman 1/3 Sheet Sander

164 days ago by dustbunny | 6 comments »

No longer available for purchase through Sears, this sander can still be had at yard sales, auctions, eBay, or your grandpa’s workshop. Since I totally dislike sanding as part of the woodworking experience, I have to say I love this sander. Once I established the fact that I had a stack of cutting boards that needed to be sanded and had built my downdraft table to ease my pain, my husband turned up with this sander. He held it out saying it belonged to his dad, and it was one of his ...

Great accessory for the shop

Great accessory for the shop

310 days ago by jake | 2 comments »

I often make furniture for my home and family. I have a larger miter saw but it is too big and heavy to easily move around and I have a small shop space to deal with. I had an old 8-1/4 Delta miter saw that died after 20 years of faithful service that I would often pull out to use, instead of the 12 incher. I missed that little guy and saw the Craftsman 7-1/4 sliding miter on sale for 99.00. It is usually about 169.00. The small blade is fine for one inch material that I usually use and it wi...

More Than Worth the Money

More Than Worth the Money

While wandering through Lowe’s, I saw this bad boy just sitting there with a $30 price tag. Since I found myself in no position to own a table saw for the foreseeable future, it looked like it would solve one of my biggest problems: how to rip boards down. The Accu-Rip attaches to your circular saw with two small screws located at the front of the guide. It takes a bit of time to get it set right, because it’s edge must line up with the blade just so, but once it does, it wo...

Craftsman Professional 22124 10" table saw

Craftsman Professional 22124 10" table saw

337 days ago by Frostyjo | 22 comments »

After months of reading reviews and a little groveling at home, I finally got myself a new table saw. I decided on the Craftsman 22124. One of the first things I noticed while I was researching was the Craftsman, Delta and Steel City hybrid saws appear to be identical. The only noted differences are the fences offered, and the Delta comes with extension legs. The shipping label on the box my saw came in was labeled ‘Steel City’ and had the model number of their hybrid (with a Craftsman la...

Good benchtop sander for many projects

Good benchtop sander for many projects

363 days ago by ferstler | 4 comments »

I used to own a smaller 4×36 bench-top sander with a 6-inch disc, but the belt and disc areas were just too small. This 6×48 inch version has the surface coverage I like (a 6×13.5 inch belt work platten, and the disc is a 9 incher) and I have used it a LOT to smooth a variety of wood surfaces. The belt is easy to replace, and although the unit is normally hooked up to my dusc collector (which is configured to just blow dust out into my natural-yard area) it actuall scavenge...

16" Variable Speed Scroll Saw

16" Variable Speed Scroll Saw

This is a New addition to Craftsman Scroll Saw Series. The first one that I had, I’ve only used it twice, and if it wasn’t for the Replacement Warranty that I purchased just in case, I wouldn’t have this replacement now. So far, this Version of their Scroll Saw has Held up very well. There are only a few complaints with it thou. 1. The table is a Little Small2. The Table Tilt only tilts up to 45 Degree to the left Only, Not both left and right3. It does not hav...
