Wixey WR300 Digital Angle Gauge

Wixey WR300 Digital Angle Gauge

The Wixey WR300 angle gauge is the perfect device for setting up a table saw, jointer table, bandsaw or any device that requires specific angle juxtaposition. Beyond setting your tool at a 90 degree angle, the WR300 allows you to get +/- 0.1º and for those in need of accurate angle cuts, this can only be a good thing. Aside from setting the tools themselves this little device takes all the guess work out of jig construction, drill press hole angles and anything requiring a precise, repeat...

I bought this product because I was tired of assuming that the bevel scale on my table saw was correct. I was shocked to see just how bad it really was. All in all I’m impressed with the product, it has one job and it does it well. The only thing I have found is that when it gets cold, for instance when it sits in an unheated shop, it doesn’t always read true. This is easily fixed by zeroing it out on the table and checking the blade bevel again.

I just bought this caliper. I had an old one that was not digital, it just had stamped lines and measurements. I’ve used it for years, and considered it priceless. But, here lately, I’ve been wanting to get a little more accurate. So, I bought this Wixey brand 6” Digital readout caliper with fractions. WOW! I was really surprised at the difference. What I thought was good in the past is now not acceptable. This caliper has helped me be a better woodworker in so many ...

Added some bling to my planer

Added some bling to my planer

I bought this Wixey planer readout a few months ago when it was on sale for $40, normally i think it is priced around $70. Had I known how nice it would work and how much time it would save when milling boards I probably would have gotten it sooner, though I am glad I waited to get the one with decimals and fractions displayed. It was easy to mount on the DW735 planer by just following the part of thedirection sheet for this particular planer. I have used this digital read out si...

Wixey Digital Angle Gauge

Wixey Digital Angle Gauge

I originally undertook a review of this item http://lumberjocks.com/jocks/Tikka/blog/1195 in 2007. here are the comments I made then. There is not much to do with this unit when it arrives – just remove the battery cover, insert the battery and switch on. The operation of the gauge is very easy. I did find that my gauge when checking my blade in the table saw was wrong by 0.1°. This is within the tolerance of the gauge. I undertake more testing over the next few weeks and post the results....

A great little tool

A great little tool

Here’s a great little tool for setting the angle on most everything. Bandsaw, Tablesaw, Mitersaw, Radial Arm Saw… The best part is the precision and speed in which you can do it.There are magnets on the bottom which allows you to stick it to anything steel. I will use a table saw for example here, but you can apply the same to all tools. If what you are trying to set is aluminum or something other than steel then you will need tohold it place. Here are the magnets:..For...

I was super excited when I got this at Rockler a couple weeks ago. They had a great sale spend $100 get $30 off and I thought this would be the perfect little add on to my newly restore G1023. So today I finally decided to put this slick little sucker onto my TS. Instructions are not what I like but they are easy enough to figure out. I drilled hold in my tubes got the rails of the DRO connected. Then went to attach the hangers to the DRO Rails and, well nothing as in it wouldn’t tig...

I had some extra money from Christmas gifts and I wanted to splurge on something I didn’t need but knew that I would love to have. This table saw fence gauge is great. I can zero it whenever I want with different blades, dado stacks and even on my router wing. I think it’s great I can make routered dados and accurate distances without much thinking. You can switch between absolute measurements (from zero with blade) to short term measurements if you just wanted to cut 1”...

i got this digital protractor for christmas and since i got it i have used it for everything! to adjust my squares, set up tools, check glue ups! it is just a great little tool. so much for burning on the table saw for crosscuts. i found that my good square was 89.9 and thats why i was getting burning. once adjusting it to 90 with the wixey no burning at all! its just wonderful and it helps a lot too. also there are magnets on it that help in tool setup because it attracts to the blade and mi...

Wixey planer readout is incredible

Wixey planer readout is incredible

This morning I decided to start my time in the shop by installing this new Wixey Digital Planer Readout. It was very easy to install, although I do recommend a helping hand. It will make setting the leveling screw go much quicker. It took an hour to install from start to finish, mainly because I was the only one around and trying to set and tighten the leveling screw while checking for level was difficult to do with one pair of hands. Besides that, it was a breeze to install and I was ama...
