BLACK+DECKER BDH2010LP Platinum 20-Volt Max Lithium Ion Battery Cordless Hand Vacuum

Small annoying messes, they accumulate around the drill press, on workbenches, and in inaccessible nooks and crannies. Until I pirated this cordless vac from the house, small piles were spread everywhere in my shop. The choice is: Leave a mess or haul a shop vac over. The 20v Max brings powerful suction to small jobs. Much more than the dustbusters of yore. Small chips, sawdust, debris, cookie crumbs and dirt quickly vanish. Obviously, there are limits to what can be picked up. Spi...

Motor burned out in less than 3 days

Motor burned out in less than 3 days

Picked this belt sander up for $50 on sale at the blue box on a Saturday morning. Put it through some admittedly hard use on Saturday and Sunday grinding down some unevenness in some self-levelling concrete I’d patched a concrete slab with. Monday night I went to do the last few spots and started to smell burning emanating from the sander’s motor. Based on this performance, it would be a one-star tool. However, it came with a 30-day money-back guarantee so I was able to return ...

Might as well have taken €20 and flushed it down the toilet.

This is the last nail in B&D’s coffin where I’m concerned. I saw this set in my local hardware store and thought it would be a handy thing to have in the van – you know, just in case.I managed to bore three holes before the first drill bit snapped in half. The driver bits are good for about a dozen screws before they round off at the tip. The drill bits that don’t snap are very poor quality – it’s almost as if the tips are ground off centre, they want t...

I have a couple of the more well known rotary tools but they always seemed underpowered, especially when you put router style cutters in them. I had read when these first came out about them having much more torque for that type of work. I think these are one of the best things this company has made in years. I have one that I’ve been using for four years or so, its held up well enough that I have a couple backups. I’ve run router cutters in carving setups and you can really hog ...

A low cost alternative to the Milwaukee M12 driver

A low cost alternative to the Milwaukee M12 driver

One of my buddies at HD has a Milwaukee M12 driver and it’s awesome. Light, small and tons of torque. I just couldn’t swing the $100. So I was at WalMart and started looking around at the tool section. They had a little B&D 7.2V Lithium Ion drill driver displayed for $30 but it was out of stock. So I asked the kid working there if they would sell me the next one up for the same price. He asked the manager and we got “of course!”. Plus:- Excellent, accura...

Should last longer than 35 days. Right?

I loved the design of this sander! It is very light, handles are in perfect positions, BUT not impressed with the life of the one I bought. I used it only a few times and it started smoking. It seems to get hot quickly. I have not returned it yet, but I will be very soon. I know I didn’t apply to much pressure because I was just knocking a rough edge down on a 5” corner board. Anyone else have any luck with this sander? I would like to get another but kinda gun shy now̷...
