Price $16.49 via Amazon. Amazon also sells used copies through its affiliates and Half.com may have it for even less. Doug Stowe definitely knows his boxes. He’s built thousands of them over the years. Anytime an expert like this decides to share his secrets I try to pay attention. The focus on “Inlay” is a fuzzy one at best. Stowe talks in detail about how to make inlay strips and panels and for that information alone this book is worth its price. A true artist should...

Great on instruction - short on plans

Great on instruction - short on plans

I have several of these books and like them all. I decided to try making a version of one of the boxes in this book. The instruction about “how to build a box” is great but there are no real “plans” or measured drawings. Not all the parts are listed nor all the dimensions. If you are careful to read the instructions and “build the box in your head” first you will probably work through most issues. Great book for learning – NOT a book for plans....
