I am a new woodworker so everything I do is a new learning experience. This Triton is my first plunge router. It comes with a lot of accessories and its already a good price even with out the extras. It has some cool features like a selectable rack and pinion height adjustment for quick large increment hight changes. It comes with a handle for through the table height changes. I recently decided that I needed a new router as my old DeWalt was looking a bit long in the tooth. A quick trip to my local store to check their price on a new DeWalt and I found this Triton with 75% off. As soon as I seen the price the decision was made for me. Triton sell two models of router – the smaller 2-1/4HP model and this one – the bigger 3-1/4HP. After starting a forum topic recently to solicit opinions about what type of variable-speed router I should buy to leave mounted in my table for the most part, I eventually decided to go with the Trtion MOF001KC 2 1/4 HP plunge router. I thought hard about going with a more powerful motor, but I decided that my needs at the present time just didn’t justify it.
