A nice machine to have in the shop, Ridgid EB4424 Oscillating Edge Belt / Spindle Sander

Though there are other positive review results on this sander, I thought I’d give my thoughts. My spindle sanding adventure, I first started off with a Rockwell Spindle Sander Shop Series RK9011 in which was a failure, I posted a review on it here,, once it failed I purchased the Jet Model 708404 thinking I was getting a 6” sander only to get it home and find out it’s actually a 4”, you only get 4.5” above the table though the drums are 6” didn’t...

A GOOD LITTLE SAW

A GOOD LITTLE SAW

10-04-2013 10:37 PM by PatrickB | 3 comments »

While this saw is not made anymore (it is made in another version) I found it to suffice for my needs at the time. The covering on the table wore off kind of quick but it did not impact the performance of the saw. For a job site saw the fence was adequate but nothing fantastic. I did put a WoodWorker II saw blade on it and that made a difference in how the saw cut. For over $100.00 it better make a difference!! I was able to 8/4 wood for cutting boards with this saw. I will admit it did not ...

Makita & Ridgid - Looking back to the precursor of the modern age.

In 1983 Makita came out with the model 6010D cordless drill.I bought one. While it was not the first to market, it was the real beginning of what we enjoy today. But what a contrast that would turn out to be. The feature set of 83 included: A single speed – 600 rpm.A real long charge time with a real short run time.A small cheap keyed chuck. One 7.2 volt Ni-Cad battery packLow torque with no clutch.A dumb charger and a real limited warranty,A sickly blue colour andthe ongoin...

Newbie searching BORGs for TS

Newbie searching BORGs for TS

I’m basically brand new to woodworking and recently bought a Ridgid R4512 as my first table saw. I wanted to write a post to consolidate a lot of the information that I found while researching this saw. I’m going to start with a section on the things I found while researching my purchase and finish with a couple of observations from the very basic work I’ve done so far. Like many people considering this saw, my budget was limited to about $600. This quickly narrowed my se...

Ridgid T1300 Planer Blade Replacements

Ridgid T1300 Planer Blade Replacements

07-02-2013 08:41 PM by OakHill | 18 comments »

As an owner of the Ridgid T1300, buying new blades from Home Depot orRidgid is darn near impossible. While searching the internet for replacementsI found the Powertec 128070 blades. Advertised as “Replacement blades forthe T1300” Two sets were purchased through Amazon for $25.19 per set. A few dollarsless than the price at Home Depot, when they were available. Upon receiving the blades the first thing I did was inspect the blades using aMicrometer. The thickness was .073, the same as...

The Full Potential of the R4512

The Full Potential of the R4512

I have an R4512 with a MLCS cast-iron router table extension, Incra 32” TS-LS fence system, Incra 1000HD miter guage and 48 tooth WWII blade. I love this saw and have no complaints other than being underpowered at times. However, once everything is properly calibrated I would argue that this setup could perform as well as any comparable duty saws and it has made me very happy to own. The MLCS cast-iron extension bolted up easily with the supplied hardware. The middle bolt was tric...

Ridgid MS-UV Miter Stand

Ridgid MS-UV Miter Stand

I can’t say enough good things about this stand but I’ll try and highlight all the things I like about it . First is the tubing size , it’s a whooping 1 3/4” tube , it screams heavy duty . It folds up super easy and stores nicely where ever you put it . The wheels are large and solid and roll over grass and stones with ease . The work extensions aren’t nothing fancy but will serve you well , they extend out 32” from the main part and have adjustable stops...

Good Saw Good Price

Good Saw Good Price

I just picked this saw up today to replace my old Delta Rockwell. Set up was not too bad on this saw, and dialing it in was pretty easy and straight forward. Within four hours I was making saw dust on this table saw. There are enough in depth reviews on this saw on here so I won’t bore anyone with this. I am at this point rating this saw pretty good and will update this rating as I put some hours on this saw. Time to make some more saw dust!

R4512 - 3 out of 3 at my HD had alignment problems

This is not a full and extensive review, because I only had my R4512 for a couple of days. I’m doing this review for others who were in the situation I was. I was looking for a newer saw in the $500 price range and really wanted the R4512. I wanted to love the saw. I looked past the negative reviews believing the alignment/trunnion issues were only on earlier models and had been addressed. Opening the box, it all looked good. The wheels and lift system are the best. I liked...

Ridgid R4512 Table Saw --

Ridgid R4512 Table Saw --

01-27-2013 02:02 PM by fstellab | 38 comments »

Hi Folks,I have about 3 weeks experience with my new R4512, and about 6 months working with wood. I started with a Ridgid Miter Saw, I was blown away, it is a great miter saw. So Ridgid tools are my tool of choice. First I must mention that I originally got a Craftsman 10” Laser guided table for Christmas, I spent days trying to get the thing together. I tried cutting a boards, but I got a bad feeling, I was scared of the thing. I tuned as per the manual, but the first time I used it th...
