Customer Service Matter Resolved

I am a small cabinet shop. I have bought many parts from ereplacementparts over many years. I recently ordered a part for my sander that cracked somehow, a shroud that directed the dust into the bag. I looked at the schematic and with the descriptions, I determined that the part, described as a dust collection support seemed to be the right part. Upon arrival, I saw the it was not the right part and so disassembled the sander further and found that what I was looking for was described as a br...

Rigid R2601 Random Orbital Sander

Rigid R2601 Random Orbital Sander

03-12-2016 07:47 PM by JetDriver | 3 comments »

I received my Rigid Orbital sander for Christmas this year and since then have had a chance to put it to good use on several projects. It’s my first Orbital Sander so I can’t compare it to other models based on personal experience but my choice was based on internet research that showed it to be among the best on the market at this time. Overall I would say it has fulfilled my expectations and I think my old Craftsmen palm sander is likely to start collecting a lot of dust in the future. T...

Alright y’all, I’ve recently reviewed the GEN5X line of tools and I gotta say I’m nothing short of impressed with the features, quality, and power. So if free tools sound good to you then enter the giveaway at the bottom of the review. If free tools don’t sound good then, well...

My review of the Ridgid EB4424 Oscillating Spindle Sander

My review of the Ridgid EB4424 Oscillating Spindle Sander

Hi, after much deliberation, and reading and rereading the FWW review, I bought the EB4424, Ridgid Oscillating Spindle Sander. 8/4/15 Update:I returned #2. I then took a combo square off the display and applied it to the display unit sander. Much flatter table, and much more coplaner tables (tiltable table relative to fixed), and near perfect perpendicular table to spindle. All I can suggest is the older models were machined with much tighter tolerances. In my opinion the latest F...

Major Issues with Ridgid EB4424 Oscillating Sander

Major Issues with Ridgid EB4424 Oscillating Sander

I purchased this ridgid sander 2 days ago after reading a lot of great reviews. The assembly went together very quickly and easily and the fit and finish of the sander appeared to be on par with the price. It wasn’t until I installed the belt assembly onto the spindle that I first noticed something wasn’t right. When installing the “spindle knob” (item 1 in the attached parts list diagram), I noticed that the threads were not even close to concentric to the shank of th...

Great Saw - Keep it in Context

Great Saw - Keep it in Context

I have had this saw for two weeks and felt I had used it enough to write a balanced review of it. As you can see from the pics, I have added a router table extension, sacrificial fence, and a router fence. In summary, it is exactly what I was looking for. The footprint is perfect for a basement or garage shop and the mobile base works extremely well and is built to handle this 260lb saw. Getting the saw home is a bear. I was doing it solo and I have a basement workspace so I actually e...

It took some doing but I convinced SWMBO that I needed this…and that she should buy it for me as an anniversary+birthday gift…and since she wants me to build some cabinets for a recess in our new home and that I REALLY needed it because my other say ‘aint cutting straight anymore…must have got damaged in the move” Didn’t really feel like the effort to explain how the portable plastic body cheap-o I have really aint up to the tasks I am about to ask of it a...

Ridgid Compound Sliding Miter Saw MS1290LZA, Up For Review

Ridgid Compound Sliding Miter Saw MS1290LZA, Up For Review

As usual, I’ll give you a teaser and you can check out the rest of the review on my blog. Here’s the gist. For 95% of woodworkers out there this saw is it. It’s a feature packed saw that does a lot of stuff well but falls just a little short in others. For the price, you can’t beat it. I really wanted to absolutely love with saw and have no faults with it, but since it’s a sliding miter saw there is going to be some amount of play. The slop that was in ...

First impressions: Ridgid Compact Table Saw

First impressions: Ridgid Compact Table Saw

12-18-2014 11:50 PM by ajw1978 | 19 comments »

I’ve been wanting—note I didn’t say “need” or any derivative thereof—a table saw for quite some time and when I saw this one, originally a Black Friday special, still available a few weeks after the Thanksgiving holiday and with an assortment of store credits and a Harbor Freight coupon in my pocket, I decided the $50 out-of-pocket outlay was worth it, especially with the lifetime warranty. Finally found one in stock, ran out to get it and after a good week...

Ridgid Mobile Miter Saw Stand AC9945, Up For Review

Ridgid Mobile Miter Saw Stand AC9945, Up For Review

This stand is really great. It’s easy to use, easy to move, and doesn’t rock or move while using the saw. Check out the video of loading and unloading the saw and stand from a pickup. No, it’s not light and if you’re slap outta shape you won’t be able to do this, but for me it sure beats heaving a full size chop saw in and out of a truck bed. The video pretty much hits the big stuff about the stand, but if you wanna read a bit more check out my blog post ...
