Ridgid TS3650 Table Saw

Ridgid TS3650 Table Saw

I’ve had this saw for about a year and love it. It was pretty square out of the box and the fence is really steady in contrast with earlier reviews on older models. The ability to move it on wheels is great, it comes with the wheels attached a bonus. There is a 2 1/2” dust collector hook up up under the saw which is so so, it’s hard to control the saw dust on any contractor’s saw. I have had no troubles with it and would highly recommend it.

Ridgid R4511 10 in. Granite Top Table Saw

Ridgid R4511 10 in. Granite Top Table Saw

To be fair , I was waiting to write this review after I tackled the last (and only) issue I’ve had with this saw as to give a proper review of it’s operation, and not limited by any aspect of missing/malfunctioning parts out-of-the-box. my ‘limitation’ was that the fence had a slight disposition issue once locked all the way down (was fine if locked half way – it would stay put and stay on the mark – but if the lock handle was pushed further, it would skew ...

Ridgid JP0610 Jointer/Planer

Ridgid JP0610 Jointer/Planer

OK, before I purchased the JP0610 I owned a 30-inch Delta JT160 tabletop jointer/planer. (Shown to the right in the wider-angle photo.) I still have the thing and now store it on a shelf where it can be quickly hauled out onto my shop’s workdeck for rough-and-tumble work that does not involve longer boards. The 45-inch-bed Ridgid JP unit has replaced it as a precision tool (some have complained of table alignment problems, but mine seems perfect in that respect), and of course the ne...

Ridgid MS1290LZ Sliding Compound Miter Saw

I am reasonably new to woodworking, if one can call getting into it seriously only four years ago as “new.” I will also note that it was four years ago that I retired from a 35-year career at a university library. Once I retired I told my wife that I wanted to get a few tools so that it would be easier to do home-improvement projects. One thing led to another and now I have a workshop full of tools. My woodworking neophyte status notwithstanding, I am not new to reviewing produ...

Ridgid BS1400 Band Saw

Ridgid BS1400 Band Saw

410 days ago by ferstler | 20 comments »

Note: while this review is of the BS1400 model, the owner’s manual calls it the BS14002. I do not know if the addition of the number 2 signifies an upgrade or is just the full number not listed correctly in the catalog. The earlier “gray” version might have been the plain, old BS1400. In any case, the one being reviewed here is the orange version seen easily at any Home Depot store, usually selling for about $350. OK, this is a pretty basic band saw in the old style. It c...

This saw restored my house, built my shop, and kept on truckin'.

I bought this saw after some research. Age old argument Bosch vs. Ridgid. It was on sale at Home Depot, so argument settled. When I first bought it I had not shop or shed. It folded right up and sat in the living room. UtilityI have built countless window screens, ripped trim, and even cut the 7’ parts for giant garage doors with this baby. I have ripped also plywood sheets, and re-sawn chunky 2×8’s with this saw. My contractor has one too and rewaws 20’ beams wit...

Initial Review for Rigid R4151

Initial Review for Rigid R4151

613 days ago by steve3604 | 12 comments »

Been shopping for Miter Saws since last fall, read the reviews, searched the web, yada yada, 20% off sale on rigid tools at Home Depot so went and checked it out. I currently have some Rigid tools, (TS3650 table saw totally love it, TP1300 2 blade planer love it, floor model drill press don’t love it but its decent), looked at sliders, and non-sliders 10 and 12 inch, they even had some factory refurb 12” sliders for 349.00. I eventually went with the new R4151 and here’s wha...

Powerful 18 Volt Cordless Drill/Driver with Lifetime Warranty!

Powerful 18 Volt Cordless Drill/Driver with Lifetime Warranty!

Right now, February, 2008, Ridgid is phasing out its line of NiCad batery tools and phasing in their new Lithium Ion line. So they are making their tools capable of accepting either style batterys! But that will not make a big difference because they offer a lifetime service for the tool and the batterys that power them! After replacing my Craftsman batterys just last year and having them going south now, I decided top grab a Ridgid tool set while Home Depot has them on clearance sale. I ...

Ridgid TS2400LS table saw I can't do without.

Ridgid TS2400LS table saw I can't do without.

319 days ago by scrollworkman | 17 comments »

I have owned my Ridgid portable for two and half years and now the brushes need replacing. This will be a two week wait for the parts to come in. I will borrow my Dad’s 60 year old Sears table saw while I wait.A life time warranty does not make up for quality.I don’t recall my father’s saw needing repair and if it did the parts were readily available. I love the portability and performance of the Ridgid TS2400LS but I would prefer a two for one deal over a life time warra...
