Oshlun 8" stacked dado review

Let me preface this review with the only other dado i have used was a very old sears “wobble” dado that i used once and refused to put back on my saw. I bought this last week as rockler had it on sale for 59$ and all the reviews I saw of the 6” set said it was a good buy. Its a stacked set with full blade chippers which i like better than the wing chippers. I used it on a scrap piece of pine and had no tear out and flat bottoms. The cutter blades are made so that they pu...

The box it comes in is nothing to write home about…in almost every review I have read on this set, the reviewer comments on the crappy box, but then I care more about whats in the box..I can make a damn box…OK I’m getting side tracked…here is what it looks like.. So I went out a...

A Bonafide Bargain in a Full Kerf General Purpose Blade

A Bonafide Bargain in a Full Kerf General Purpose Blade

The Oshlun 40T general purpose blade is a fairly standard ATB design with a steep positive hook, large C4 micrograin carbide teeth, thick steel plate, 0.125” kerf, and copper silencers. The fact that it’s available for ~ $25 is the most distinctive feature that separates it from other good quality 40T general purpose blades. It’s surprisingly well made, is very sharp, and performs well within the range capabilities of a blade of this design. It’ll rip glue ready edg...

120 Teeth that make me smile!

I bought this “Oshlun 8 dado stack after watching it on Amazon for more than a year. Usually I’m not really cheap but I knew the price would drop eventually. I got it for $55.93 in 04/10 with free shipping and no tax. That’s a lot of C4 carbide for the price. I have two Forrest WWII blades and used to have a Freud 6” dado stack for a contractor saw. This blade set is awesome for the money. This blade stack will give very small “bat wings” in the bot...
