When we were looking at a jointer we wanted to get one that would be able to handle all of our woodworking aspirations for many years to come. We compared 4 different 8” Jointers side by side and decided that since we had the money we might as well get this one, since it ended up on top of our list when comparing the following things: Type & Number of KnivesCuts per MinuteMotorBeltsMagnetic Power SwitchPedestal Mounted SwitchTotal Bed LengthInfeed Table LengthTable AdjustmentFence S...

Love this Drill Press but get help with assembly

Love this Drill Press but get help with assembly

This Drill Press was a present to myself for a lot reasons; one of which was putting up with an old 8” Delta Benchtop Drill Press that just wasn’t getting the job done anymore. If you are not used to working with assembling parts and equipment, than ask someone for help. OK, for starters I’m not much of an internet guy, Id much rather be in the shop. That said I am so disappointed with this saw that it has driven me to this. So, after getting the saw home and starting to put it together I noticed a metal bur along the cast iron extension wings, where it joins with the main saw body. It was about 1/32 – 1/64 high the entire length of both extension wings. Not much of a big deal, was able to take care of it, but I started to think humm… After gettin...

Powermatic 54A 6" Jointer

Powermatic 54A 6" Jointer

I bought this jointer about a year ago as I was building a kitchen table. It has been great! It is very heavy which helps eliminate any vibration. I also bought the mobile base that goes with it – necessary for a small shop like mine. I have run alot of hard maple and red & white oak through the jointer with no problems at all. It is very powerful and does not bog down whith the largest beams run through it. The extra long beds are awesome! They make jointing long boards so much eas...
