Evapo-Rust Remover Works Great in 1 Hour

Evapo-Rust Remover Works Great in 1 Hour

Wow. This stuff worked every bit as good as advertised!! A very generous friend of mine gave me a 9 1/2 Stanley plane that did not sell in the estate auction he held recently. Knowing I’m building my shop and having already bought a #4 Stanley plane from him, he gave me this completely rusted plane that needed some love and care. After doing some research on the web I came across this product and thought I would give it a try. I placed the disassembled plane in a baggy and poured i...

Still Amazed - Evapo Rust

Still Amazed - Evapo Rust

I have written two previous reviews on this product and so I was not intending to write a third, however after the result of Evapo-Rust, I cannot help but to do so. Unfortunately, since I was not intending to post this, I did not take any before photos, but I’m sure you all can recall in your shop (or perhaps your dad’s) all the rusty screws that tend to accumulate. While none of these were super rusted, many of the nuts I could not get off with just my bare hands. This is what the screw...

Evapo-Rust works

Evapo-Rust works

A fellow LJ (Dusty56) recently posted about about using Evapo-Rust for rust removal from his jointer tables. I decided to buy a gallon and try it. All I did was take a wire brush the parts to remove the loose scale and place parts into a plastic container. I poured in just enough ER to cover all the parts and then let everything sit for 6 hours. After removing the parts from the solution, I gave them a quick brushing using a brass brush. Keeping the container in a warm place helps with the ch...

Evapo-Rust to the rescue

Evapo-Rust to the rescue

This is my first use of this product and am impressed The tools were 12 years + and came from my father’s house in upstate NY. Due to his age and declining health, he had not used them for years by the time I picked them up and brought them to Florida (rust capital of the world – I believe.) Rust Removal – before photos: Evapo-Rust to the rescue here are the after photos. I learned about Evapo-Rust from a forum devoted to Radial Arm Saws. I bought it at Har...

Amazing way to get rid of rust

Amazing way to get rid of rust

I have become the proud owner of a new Rockwell Bandsaw that used to be owned by my father-in law. He passed a few years back and the family refused to touch his workshop for a number of years. But time has come to take on the task, however, the years have not been kind to all that idle metal. Moisture and a slow water leak all combined to raise big trouble with the bandsaw table, as well as some of the other parts of the saw. I wanted to do everything I could to get it back to the same condi...

Evapo-Rust vs. RustAid

Evapo-Rust vs. RustAid

Having recently suffered a flooded shop, I’m something of an expert on rust removal. I usually use Evapo-Rust but while waiting for the shipment (from McMaster) I bought some “Rust Aid” from home depot. Bottom line? Evaporust is FAR superior. Rust Aid starts clear but quickly turns into a green, gritty soup, leaving odd residue on the tools once they are derusted. Getting the residue off is a chore in itself. Evaporust stays clear for a while but eventually turns bla...

Evapo Rust - Still Impressive

This is my second review of this product. In my first review I show this amazing product on large pieces loaded with rust. Here I decided to clean up some small items. The great thing with this product is that it keeps the rust off for a long period of time, well over a year. A close up of the rust Below is my process as I cleaned several items that day. I do it much like what they say on the bottle. I let the pieces soak in Evapo-Rust for a several hours Then I rinse in plain...

THIS STUFF IS GREAT TO THE LAST DROP

THIS STUFF IS GREAT TO THE LAST DROP

If you have ever had rust on something where it shouldnt be… this is the stuff for you! Directions are as simple as submersing your rusted piece in the solution from 30 minutes to as long as you can stand to wait. Evapo-rust has no detectable odor out of the bottle and is a pale yellow color. After i submersed my piece(antique c-clamp) for a few hrs, noticeable progress had been made. I wasnt quite satisfied after the piece hd been submersed after a few hrs, as it was in bad shape, so I...
