Review of ClearVue 1800LH

I purchased a ClearVue cyclone 1800LH for my shop about two months ago. Had torn muscles in my shoulder, so put it up a month ago, had shoulder surgery, and finally got it wired and turned on for the first time today. First Impressions: The unit came complete, packaged extremely well. Everything labeled, wrapped, boxed, re-wrapped. I unpacked everything and nothing was dented, broken, scratched or otherwise in any condition but brand new. The system also came with a remote control and...

Finally, after many months of moving, new shop set, starting a new job, etc. I have got my Clearvue Cyclone up and running. I’ll run through a bit of my decision process leading to my purchase, then the installation, and finally its performance. Decision I had an average setup; a 1.5hp canister DC connected to a short run of 6” pipe with 4” flex hose drops to each machine. The setup worked well to capture the chips from the jointer and planer, collect the shavings from the TS c...

Ok…so, I had been shopping around for a dust collection system for my shop vac. I kept having to clean my filter and I was really getting sick of it. I have an older Rigid shop vac and I started a bathroom remodel. I’ve read about several dust collection systems….both good and bad. I heard really great things about Oneida Dust Deputy, but also that you get what you pay for with cheap plastic. I looked at Grizzly but didn’t see anything to attach to my shop vac (but ...

I have a small garage shop. For some reason my wife insists on parking right in the middle of it! This leaves me needing everything to be compact and mobile. I have no room for dust collection but learned right away after starting this hobby that dust collection is not an option, its a necessity. My shop vac wasn’t going to last long with a chronically clogged filter. Thankfully I found these guys. I bought the Mini CV06. I hooked it up to my shop vac. I lived happily ever after...

Ordered a mini cyclone for attachment to my shop vac. The kit is currently on sale, $20 off, which basically covers the shipping. Shipping:The box shipped via UPS and arrived exactly one week after ordering. When it arrived, I was fearful that my merchandise might be damaged, as the side of the box was caved in. But ClearVue had done a great job of packaging, putting all the pieces inside of the two 5 gallon buckets, nested together. AssemblyAssembly was quick and easy, taking only a...

Better when attached to the shopVac then a 5 gallon bucket

Better when attached to the shopVac then a 5 gallon bucket

I have had this not for a few month, and it is much nicer to empty this then the shop vac. I am using a Ridgid 6.5hp shop vac with this. It work well, but not as well as I thought it would. Sealing the air leaks in the container seem to help but there was nothing in the included instruction that said this. I got this in the kit form that came with a could of 5 gallon buckets, a short section of hose to connect it the shopvac (its a really nice quality), and the hardware to attach it to ...

Expensive but Awesome

Expensive but Awesome

I hate emptying the bin on my cyclone, but I hate even more when I forget to and fill my filters with dust and chips; basically means an evening wasted cleaning out chips from the filters and then multiple rounds of blowing the fine dust out. I have my cyclone in its own room to keep the noise down so I can’t see the bin…I originally had a Oneida Dust Sentry, it was ok but was inconsistent. After moving to a new shop and filling the filters 3 times in a row, I looked for an altern...
