I’m a DIY guy who’s getting into my 60’s and have learned that it pays to buy good tools. In other words, you get what you pay for. That’s why I felt good when I bought this Milwaukee hammer drill. Milwaukee makes good stuff, right? Not. I hadn’t used the drill more than a dozen times when the variable speed feature quit. Now, you don’t want to be using a high torque 1/2” drill without variable speed – unless you don’t care if your arm ...

If you only own one drill/driver in your entire life, this should be and could be the one. There is no better drill, in my opinion than the magnum. This drill will tear your arm off before it gives up, and has warning labels as such. These warnings should not be taken lightly. It is also possible to delicately drive screws without over torquing. The variable speed is extremely responsive and easy to control. highlights – Keyed Jacobs chuck. This is tough, has no discernible run-out ...

I am not normally inclined to write bad reviews, preferring to talk about tools that I really like, but if I can save one LJ from buying this problem drill then my work here is done. We were out on a job site, far, far from home – without our right angle drill. It was essential to what we were doing so our boss ran out and bought (to give him credit) probably the only choice available for miles. Nevertheless, it was Jack and the Beanstalk in reverse. We gave him a few beans, he cam...

The Milwaukee C12D

The Milwaukee C12D

This is probably the best drill/driver I ever had; it scores 100% in my ratings. It’s a heavy duty cordless drill/driver and it can work all day with 1 ½ batteries I was so surprised with its power lightness in handling it and it outlasted both Bosch and Makita by far. Bought it a year ago brand new in sealed case from a very reputable tool store and it was not cheap. Unless you own one you cannot grasp the value of this tool. Here are the technical specs for this masterpiece ...

Built Like A Tank

Built Like A Tank

I owned a 5615 fixed base a few years back, but had to sell it to finance my bigger 5625. This is one router that I actually repurchased when I saw it on sale. The 5615-24 is the 8th router I’ve owned (Craftsman 9 amp, Freud FT2000E, Milwaukee 5625, Bosch 1617, Hitachi M12VC, Freud FT1700, and PC690). It’s an extremely well built router. The motor is made in the USA and is very strong for it’s 11 amp rating …plenty strong for most applications. It’s smooth an...

I had burnt up my last sander and was in a pinch to get another. So I had found this sander at a box store for $80.00.The weight and balance are very good. Also the grip is rubber and a little smaller than most of the others that I picked up. I will say this, one good thing about big box store is that you can test ride a product. I do have a bad wrist and on my last project I have been doing a lot of hand planing, sawing and card scrapping. so my wrist is a little sore. This sander does have ...

Great saw for the price

Great saw for the price

I was looking for a new saw to replace my old Skil model and found this nice Milwaukee for $99.00. I have had it about a week and am pretty impressed. I was actually toying with the Ridgid brand, but opted on this one instead. This is a saw with no laser, or electric brake, but I personally didn’t miss them. Nice and powerful motor at 15amps so I haven’t experienced any binding under extreme use yet. Does have a interesting adjustable handle that you can position high or low de...

Very impressive 1/2 inch driver.

Very impressive 1/2 inch driver.

I got this drill for Christmas and have been very impressed with everything about it. It does what you expect a drill to do, it has the torque you need. Where it goes beyond that is its light weight and power use. I used this drill extensively for several hours on a single battery. When I finally used up the first battery I was initially afraid that the drill was broken. I thought it was broken because it was behaving as though it had full strength right up to its last drop of battery li...

"variable" speed trigger

"variable" speed trigger

First of all, I’d like to explain that this is not the saw I have ordered from Home Depot Canada.A guy made a mistake somewhere and sent me this one instead of the 13 Amp 6536-21.After multiple calls, they offered to refund less than the difference but I had to use the saw anyway soI kept it. HD really s**ks in Canada. Last time I buy stuff from them. So I have received the 6519-22. The metal locks on the case are working very well. The case is just big enough for the saw, even the ma...
