UltraDeck Composite Decking material

UltraDeck Composite Decking material

I just completed building a deck that featured the UltraDeck composite decking material. This was my first experience with any composite decking material. In many regards, I was impressed. This is a solid, straight and true decking material. They claim it is maintenance free and I believe them. The hidden screw system works reasonably well and, once you figure it out, installation goes well. The second picture shows a close-up of the grooves in the sides of the boards. A T-s...

Sylvania Wireless Task Light- aka Flash Light ?

Sylvania Wireless Task Light- aka Flash Light ?

This is a Wireless Task Light that I found at my local Home Depot Store. This Task light is about 10” long and 0.5” in diameter. It is powered by 3 AAA batteries. The batteries are included. (Big spender !) The price is $10.95 plus state and local taxes. Here in the Peoples Republic of California Sales tax in 9.75% on this item. Why they call it a ”...wireless flash light…” I don’t know. Has anyone seen an extension cord for a flash light ? ...

SE 10 High Speed Black Carbon Rasp Burr Wood Working Rotary

SE 10 High Speed Black Carbon Rasp Burr Wood Working Rotary

These are very small, only about an inch or two. They can be used in a drill press or a cordless drill. These shaper rasps are really nice if you work with some free hand woodworking. They are great for matching up round surfaces, they don’t tear your work out either. Very good buy and as important as a good set of chisels. Strongly recommend especially at the price amazon has of under 10$. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00339ECVS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

1, 2, and 3 inch sanding discs

I heard about these here on another post and decided to order some. I cut my own paper and it sticks well however it wears out fast due to the small area. If you press too hard for too long you’ll heat the pad up and the foam will melt. A bit of CA glue will fix it. The sponges under the abrasive are great for hard to get to places that require intense sanding that you couldn’t do with any other tool. I use it on my turnings to get even sanding along the curves and to avo...
