Makita MAC5200 3 HP Air compressor

Makita MAC5200 3 HP Air compressor

I purchased this compressor as a replacement for a 26Gal 5HP husky I had. There was nothing wrong with the Husky it was simply that my space could not accommodate it. I intended to use this as a homeowner who always has a project and as someone who uses compressed air for multiple purposes. I did alot of research and narrowed it down to either the MAC5200 or the DeWalt D55146. I decided on the Makita because of the lower price and the oil lubricated pump. The reason oil lubrication was import...

First of all, this is a good product overall. If you are going to buy one, or just have, you might benefit from the following setup tips: 1. The oil filler cap is a single piece, consisting of the cap and attached tube. It may look like you can separate the cap from the tube, but don’t bother to try. Simply screw the whole piece into the threaded oil filler opening. No need to tighten too hard. Finger tight plus a bit more will be more than sufficient. You will not need to remove thi...

This has to be the best hammer/drill/driver that i’ve ever used. It’s power/weight combo is perfect. I could use this drill all day without being fatigued and the battery would keep on going. Drilling 1 1/4” holes with speedbore max bits does not pose a problem for this drill. It eats through lumber with ease. This drill easily drills in 3/16” holes in concrete (just as fast as our corded hammer drill) to drive in anchors and it doesn’t take much to drill u...

Makita LCT 209 Combo Kit: Does size really matter? It does when you’re using a cordless drill or driver all day or when you find yourself working over your head or in tight spaces, like building or installing kitchen cabinets. Makita recently introduced its 12 volt, LCT 209 12volt Combo Kit that includes the 3/8” Drill (model #FD02), the ¼” Impact Driver (model #DT01) and the battery charger (model #DC10WB) and what a combination it is. A versatile, light weight, well balanced combinati...

Newest 12 Volt Lith

Newest 12 Volt Lith

I just wanted to share the latest addition to my cordless tool set. I have been building my Makita LXT inventory throughout the years. In the past I have used several brands of the 12 volt lithium sets. I first bought a Sears Nextec drill/jigsaw/flashlight set. It actually was a good set, but I found a few annoying things about the tools. The sears drill had a sticky speed switch and the jigsaw was awkward to hold in your hand and switch on. It worked better as a reciprocating saw. To ofte...

01. shippingI ordered this from reconditionedsales.comPackaging was pretty normal, like the standard for this type of tool. Huge box to say the least. Ordered on a Friday and received the saw on a Tuesday morning with regular UPS shipping. 02. hardware listEverything was in the box. Box looked like it was new. This was however a reconditioned miter saw, but I could not tell it at all. 03. assemblingEasy, not much to do. 04. tuning and adjustingAdjusted the insert throat on each s...

Makita RP2301FC 3-1/4 HP Plunge Router (Variable Speed)

I just got this router. So I’ll likely update info as I get more familiar. I noticed there are not many reviews for this new model from Makita so we need one on LJ. Amazon offered a really low sale price on this for Black Friday. It was $100 less than the sale price here in Canada. Being 10 minutes from Detroit, I had it shipped there and even got free shipping from Amazon. To my horror, Amazon didn’t pack it. They shipped the router in its own box – unsealed. I guess UPS took ...

Makits Combo Driver and Drill set....

For years I have used Makita cordless tools. I was using my 9.6 volt drill about two years ago when a friend came by and began to brag on his 18 volt Dewalt drill/driver. This prompted me to start looking around for an 18 volt set to replace my rather gutless 25 year old unit.We were in Home Depot and they were having a sale on combo kits and if you bought the kit, they would throw in an extra battery free. There was the Makita combo kit with the charger and two batteries for $279.00. We che...

A quality Jigsaw

A quality Jigsaw

10-13-2010 11:10 AM by DoctorDan | 10 comments »

Earlier this year I purchased a Makita 4351FCT Jigsaw from Sydney Tools. Official Stats: Length of Stroke 26mm, Max. Cutting Capacity 135mm (wood) & 10mm (steel), Angle cutting -45-45. Continuous Rating Input 720W, Strokes per Minute 800-2,800, and Weight 2.4kg. I needed a tool to make some curved cuts and also rough cuts in a safer manner than using a circular saw on a non-flat slabs. A bow-saw is romantic but I’d have to build it, and I was in a hurry. A bandsaw would be great,...
