Makes Drilling Pocket Holes a Walk in the Park

Makes Drilling Pocket Holes a Walk in the Park

I’m sure some may argue, but this has got to be one of the coolest little gadgets I have in my shop. I opted for the mini version 1) for the attractive price tag compared to their pricier systems, and 2) I never really thought I would use that many pocket holes in my projects. Several hundred pocket holes later, I find myself wishing I had paid the extra amount and purchased their more complete system that retails for around $99. The Kreg-Jig mini will do the same job just as good as its m...

Not to much to say about it other then its sturdy and gives you a perfect way to trasport and store you kreg pocket hole jigs and the supply to use it. If any of you are like me I own more then one K3 and have found my self using this system in many ways the folks at kreg probable never imagined. so this tool box has made portability for me much easier now one box takes care of it all. I hate to rave about something as simple as a plastic tool box but the folks at Kreg have hit a home r...

Nice job but it takes time

Nice job but it takes time

I bought this product because I thought it would improve the look of the pool deck I am building and although I am not finished yet I think it has. The whole purpose of the jig is too allow the user to screw down decking without showing the screw and that’s exactly what it did. My decking is made from 5/4 pressure treated boards. There are 10 joists each spaced 16 on centers and there are 2 screws per joist which gives 20 screws per board. To boards feel as if the are held down well. I ...

Worth every Penny

Worth every Penny

I had a few bucks on a Lowe’s gift card and it was one of those rare times I didn’t have something jump out at me that I “need”. I’ve had good luck with Kreg products (namely, pocket hole jig) so I decided to give this one a shot. I normally have used a combo square, fixed squares, and some shop built story sticks and such. The claim from Kreg is that it can be used for 90 & 45 layout, a story stick, depth gauge for set up, a torpedo level, and a couple o...

Kreg bandsaw fence is a resawing dream

Kreg bandsaw fence is a resawing dream

Among Kreg’s many useful accessories is their bandsaw fence. This fence system has the precision to make thin strips for veneering, edge banding, or oval boxes, as well as doing general resawing. One of the test strips shown above is 2” x 30” and is an incredibly uniform .014 thousandths thick. It’s easy to compensate for blade drift and the rip scale is also a handy feature. Kreg makes this fence for many popular bandsaws. Additional and optional accessories includ...

My wife actually grabbed this off of the shelf at the Big Blue Box Store while I was searching for a box of pocket hole screws. The body is the blue plastic that Kreg loves so much, and the 6” rule is of decent thickness. I have been using this for the past couple days and I really do kind of like it. If it had a 12” rule instead of a 6” rule I might have given this 5 stars instead of just 4.

Kreg Deck Jig Hidden Fastener System

Kreg Deck Jig Hidden Fastener System

I was very excited to get the Kreg Deck Jig this summer as I am replacing the deck at my home. The new deck is a 10’ X 16’ floating deck, framed in the usual manner with PT lumber for the structure and Western Red Cedar (5/4×6) decking and trim. I have a most favorable opinion of Kreg tools generally, however in the Deck Jig they might have missed the mark just a little bit. I have a few observations….... 1. The jig is formed of the familiar blue plastic, but I fi...

I went to buy this fence last Thursday to mount it on my HF band saw.I mounted it Saturday and yesterday Sunday.I am mechanic by trade and it is my job to make stuff work, no matter what.Well, this fence was a challenge. I was expecting an easy and straight forward installation, the installation was anything but——The table had two threaded holes in the front which lined up with fixation holes in the fence but contrary to what it is supposed to be , when using these holes the fenc...

I am a woodworker, teacher and publisher of Build A Maloof Inspired Rocker with Charles Brock and Coming Soon, Build A Maloof Inspired Low Back Dining Chair. Each instructional bundle contains a DVD, Book and Full-Size Patterns with Online and Personal Support. What do I expect out of a router table? As a chairmaker and teacher I want dependabilty and durability and not too many frills with moving parts. This is my list of expectations. The stand and table need to be heavy without being a ...

Simple and Inexpensive

Simple and Inexpensive

I’ve been looking at getting a Kreg pocket hole jig for a while now, with it basically being a toss up between the R3 Jr. and the extremely simple mini jig kit. I wasn’t really looking at the K4 or higher systems, since they go up in price pretty quickly, and as always I’m working on a budget. In addition, I always planned to get the face clamps, so the extra clamping capabilities of the more expensive systems seemed unnecessary for my level of work. I bought the small fac...
