Review of the Woodcraft Anti Kickback Safety Rollers

Review of the Woodcraft Anti Kickback Safety Rollers

161 days ago by steve_in_ohio | 16 comments »

I bought these rollers a couple of days ago because my table saw is old and it doesn’t have a riving knife and I don’t like to use the blade guard. Also I had problems when running long boards thru the table saw that they would try to move away from the fence, so I bought these rollers. I mounted these on my fence with a t-track instead of the rail that it is sold for these. After some simple assembly I started using these and I love them. They hold the wood down to the table and ...

Non Stick Pen Bushings for CA Finishing

Non Stick Pen Bushings for CA Finishing

286 days ago by Dick | 1 comment »

Just got these in today and they are awesome! Now I can finish pen sleeves on the lathe and never get glue on the actual metal bushings. You don’t have to worry about damaging the finish when separating the part from the bushing if they get stuck. I’m sure some of you have figured out other alternatives. But, for 7 bucks, these things are well worth the money and turned out to make this process much easier and time efficient. http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/2084563/43430/Hold...

Excellent customer support for a lost package

Excellent customer support for a lost package

714 days ago by bobasaurus | 6 comments »

I ordered a few lathe tools from Woodcraft during their last sale, and was excited when I checked the tracking number at work and the box had been delivered. But then I got home and the package was nowhere to be seen. It either got lost or stolen, and it was pretty frustrating… never happened to me before at my house, and I’ve ordered tons of packages. I didn’t hold out much hope to get my items or money back, but I tried emailing Woodcraft’s customer service anyway...

Woodcraft the best Customer Service and support for Wood River Planes

Woodcraft the best Customer Service and support for Wood River Planes

762 days ago by bloqbeta | 12 comments »

I bought my first plane, a Wood River No. 4 Plane and had it shipped to my sister in Florida, who brought it down to Guatemala where I live, that took almost 2 months. I received it yesterday and prepared it for the bench, cleaned all the gunk, honed the blade perfectly, razor sharp with an imperceptible camber. Grabbed a beautiful plank of highly figured mahogany and started planing the face of the board, and to my surprise, it left a very deep indentation. They were not plane track but...

easy and effective way to clean saw blades

easy and effective way to clean saw blades

803 days ago by Mainiac Matt | 10 comments »

I’ve used the foamy stuff in the brown spray cans (see my second picture) both at home and at work and it’s horrible…. toxic smell, harsh on your skin, spatters, puts a caustic mist in the air, and supposedly eats away at the brazing that attaches the carbide tips to the saw blade. I used it a month ago to clean some burned router bits at work and a coworker accross the room started coughing and had to step outside to get some air. I also had some of it spatter into my mo...

Powered Respirator at a reasonable price

Like many ljs I have a dust collector and ambient air cleaners in my shop. Although they do a good job keeping my shop clean, while working with cedar I still found myself coughing at night.I smoked for years and still work as an auto dealer tech so I think my lungs are holding a grudge!I bought this mask 11-2011 and have used it many hours. It’s comfortable to wear, has a strap that goes over my head to support it’s weight and the same strap slides thru the mask and buckles behin...

Heads up for Woodcraft CS...

Just wanting to give an enormous heads up to the folks at Woodcraft customer service dept. especially Sam ;) Not sure this is the right place to post but this doesn’t really come under any of the given forum topics and is a “review” of sorts so.. A few weeks back I placed an online order with Woodcraft to take advantage of the cut price on Woodriver planes, I ordered a No.4 and also a wood thread cutting kit. They got back to me saying they couldn’t charge my card. I...

Do not have high expectations!

Do not have high expectations!

I bought it, I guess it works but I am not happy with it. I still would rather “freehand” my blades! What do I expect for 13 bucks? Call me picky if ya want. When sharpening, I expect nothing less than perfection! And this little unit is far from it!

Woodcraft Dust Collector Remote Control

Woodcraft Dust Collector Remote Control

1104 days ago by newTim | 14 comments »

I’ve seen these things in the local Woodcraft for many months and finally bought one when it recently went on sale. Many folks have been ‘hotrod-ding’ their dust collectors, especially the Harbor Freight. I’m happy to report this is working great. Just plug it in to the wall and plug the collector in to it. The HF is supposed to be a 2HP motor, but it is still 110V, so I was reluctant to buy this thinking it would be overpowered. Not true. I wish I had bought thi...
