Good Idea - Bad Execution

Good Idea - Bad Execution

Lee Valley recently had a free-shipping offer, I bought a few things that I had been waiting to get. While I was on the site, I noticed this drill attachment. This is something that I wish I had quite a few times recently to drill a hole or drive a screw in a hard-to-get-at location. I did some research on this drill attachment. It is not a LV/Veritas product, but is sold by LV. It is also sold on Amazon. I read some reviews there. There was a wide variety of evaluations. I decided ...

Good Featherboards, not so good runner hardware.

Good Featherboards, not so good runner hardware.

I recieved one of these featherboard sets for Christmas last year, and had noticed the other review on them, so I wanted to chime in on my own experience. My router table / extension wing uses Rockler 3/4” x 3/8” aluminum miter track, which works flawlessly with all my other miter bars. However with the Milescraft, the miter bars were extremely cheaply made with lots of casting excess, which means the miter bar wouldn’t even think of fitting the slot until I sanded the ex...

Safety First Featherboard

Safety First Featherboard

I know that the other day I wrote that we should make our own jigs rather than get hyped into buying one.Well it seems that I WAS WRONG when it came to featherboards. This device from Milescraft is well made, practical and eye appealing. It comes complete with fittings for both 3/4 and 5/8 miter slots.I ordered the double set from Amazon, this really makes sense both dollar wise and usefulness. I leave one on the router table fence and one in the table saw slot. Moving one or the other when ...

Milescraft Sign Crafter

Yo whats up everybody here is a review of the the Milescraft sign crafter. I have had the sign crafter for about 7 weeks and it works great. I did a video on the milescraft sign crafter in Episode 76 MIlescraft Sign Crafter. Its basically a jig that you use to cut signs with your router. You can cut signs up to 36 in long. Its important that the surface your router bit is referencing off of doesnt move or your not going to get an accurate cut. Once you clamp everything down the sign crafter ...

Milescraft 1207 Router Design Inlay Kit

Milescraft 1207 Router Design Inlay Kit

I purchased the Milescraft 1207 Router Design Inlay Kit because a friend wants me to inlay the Wisconsin “Running W” logo into a lid for him. The kit comes complete with everything that you need to get started routing inlays. I had to make a trip to the hardware store for M4×12 pan head screws to mount the universal base plate to my Freud router. It comes with 7” Universal Base Plate with the Turnlock system, three guide bushing, 4 templates with multiple cutouts, ...

I had to keep my stools in storage for over year after tearing down one shop then having a big delay in starting the new shop due to health issues. When I took all my stuff back out of storage I found I was missing (i.e. I lost) some little do-dads here and there. One of them was some of the accessory pieces to my router. How we got by without the internet I do not know, but after a little Google magic I had this product shipped to me and all was right with the world.

Yo whats up everybody I wanted to do a review of the milescraft fetherboard. Most people make their own feather boards but I use this feather board from milescraft and it works pretty good. The problem with the feather boards that people make is that its really hard to adjust them to different tools. This feather board is adjustable to 2 different size miter slots. You can adjust the feather board to work on most cuts. You can use this feather board on a router table, tablesaw, and a bandsaw.

Milescraft push stick kit

Yo whats up everybody I wanted to do a review on the milescraft push stick kit. In episode 22 I built a push stick and that worked pretty good but I always had a hard time getting the wood to go straight against the fence. I got this push stick kit from milescraft .You get a depth gauge and a base with the push stick. The way it is designed you have a lot downward pressure which helps to control the wood much better then the one I used to use.

Milescraft blade changer

Milescraft blade changer

1556 days ago by kosta | 5 comments »

Yo whats up everybody I wanted to do a review of the milescraft blade changer. I have had this blade changer for about 2 weeks and it works pretty good. The way it works is you put it next to the blade and you raise the blade. It has to be lined up straight with the blade. Then you keep raising the blade until the changer lifts off the table that means that its locked in. Then you take the blade off. I have always had problems using a second wrench on the left side of the blade so this is muc...
