Great 115 Volt Saw

Great 115 Volt Saw

1387 days ago by Ben | 11 comments »

I finally received my supersaw after two months on backorder. It was worth the wait. Jet ran a Fathers day deal in June and I got it cheap. Assembly I spent the better part of a Saturday putting the whole machine together. Everything was packaged well and there was no damage. I would rate the manual a 7 out of 10. I did spend 20 minutes looking for one package of bolts that they had packed inside one of the fence rails with the cap on it. I finally read the manual very closely to ...

Rock Solid Jointer!

Rock Solid Jointer!

1141 days ago by CryptKeeper | 10 comments »

I purchased this jointer this past weekend and I have already run a few feet of white oak without any problems. Pros:The manual was easy to follow and assembly was a snap. Plenty of power. Faced 6” white oak removing a 1/16 of inch no problem Reasonable foot print for small shop. I actually went to order the 8” Jet but after talking with my dealer I realized there was no way I could handle that unit by myself (unloading and assembly) and it would take up too much floor ...

JET 708315BTC 10" Bench top Table Saw

JET 708315BTC 10" Bench top Table Saw

JET 708315BTC 10” Bench top Table SawPrice $250+ When I set off to find a budget and more importantly compact saw, I went through lots of online reviews and ratings. It surprised me that many people pay $200-$300 and expect a professional fine tuned cabinet saw jump right out of the box. Then they give poor rating without even bothering to set riving knife correctly or check blade alignment. I look at it this way: There are things that you can modify, fix or adjust (flimsy fence, ...

As the price falls, the rating rises

As the price falls, the rating rises

I found this Jet JWL 1236 lathe on Craigslist and just got it home and set up today. I’ve gone over many reviews of this lathe on the web, and the couple hours use I’ve had today have proven some of the gripes right. I put a 4×4 on it and rounded it, and I found it has a rattle coming from somewhere but the lathe doesn’t shake like some have said. It seems to have enough weight to keep from dancing around. The rattle I think is made worse by the dull tools I was using, ...

Jet Jointer early christmas gift

Jet Jointer early christmas gift

212 days ago by Woodmaster1 | 9 comments »

My wife got me the jointer for christmas and ask is this the last machine I need for my shop. I said yes. (LOL) We all know that we never have enough. The jointer was package well and it took less than an hour to assemble, clean and set the outfeed and infeed tables. The jointer ran smooth with no excessive vibration. The motor needed no adjustment for the belt. The fence was easy to set square and has a stop to set it at 90 and keep it there. My trial cuts came out as smooth as glass. I ran ...

Powerful Disk Sander

Powerful Disk Sander

1349 days ago by FatScratch | 9 comments »

I received this disk sander about 9 months ago. I really didn’t think it was a necessary addition to my small hobbyist shop, but it was a gift. The buyer thought it would be a necessity for my hobby and I didn’t have the heart to exchange it. It has come in handy many times since I got it. The sander was nicely packaged in a square box which was very difficult to get my hands around, coupled with the fact that this thing is very heavy. This sander weighs in at about 100lbs. It t...

Jet Parallel Clamp

Jet Parallel Clamp

1346 days ago by alaskan79 | 9 comments »

I got a pair of 12” clamps last winter and they are really nice. I was using pipe clamps and was having trouble with my glue ups not staying flush. I was getting a lot of cup and would have to clamp some 2 X 2 on each end to stop it from happening. I got these clamps and now I don’t have that problem. About a month ago I got a pair of 31” because the 12” where a little short for some of my glue ups. I really like them also. Really easy to move the movable jaw on the ba...

Used Jet JJ-6CS jointer, seems to be a bargain

Used Jet JJ-6CS jointer, seems to be a bargain

I picked this up from a Craigslist ad recently for $200. SCORE!! I wanted the CSX with 1 hp motor, but this one will do. And with this being about half the going price for a newer CSX, I can put that money towards some chisels or a shoulder plane. Looks like it’s seen some action, I had to clean a bunch of surface rust from the fence and tables. A thorough cleaning did wonders, and now I need to pull the knives and get them sharpened. Everything seems to work fine, even the bearings are...

Review ToolSelect.com part #3 Jet Edge Sander

Review ToolSelect.com part #3 Jet Edge Sander

559 days ago by Kjuly | 9 comments »

Part 2 concluded with links to two videos produced by ToolSelect.com. The reviews, Jet Drill Press -JDP-12 and the Jet Mortiser-JBM-5 were published shortly before I wrote part 1 & 2. The third tool review video, Jet Oscillating Edge Sander-JET 708447 OES-80CS, was not published at that time. I found three issues with the operation of the edge sander. We, ToolSelect.com and I, felt it would be fair to share my findings with Jet and give them the opportunity to respond. Jet was ...

Jet 3HP Cabinet Saw with 30" Rip

There is a summary below if you don’t want to read this rather long review. Purchase and Delivery:I’ve had this saw a little over a year now and thought it would be a good point to review it. I decided on this saw after looking at countless reviews and considering price and overall weight.I purchased it from my local Woodcraft store. The owner of the store delivered it to my garage for a small fee. At first I was a little concerned that the packaging looked to be rather flimsy. It ha...
