Incra - A great router fence

Incra - A great router fence

1934 days ago by GaryK | 18 comments »

I purchased this after seeing it at the Woodworkers show in Dallas this year. I didn’t get it at the show becausewoodpeckers had it cheaper and free shipping. (Saved $80) I have been looking at it for a while, but thought what’s the big deal, my fence works just fine. Then atthe show I saw some features that I liked. Now, like at all shows they have nice slick demos that they doto make their product look simple and easy. Well, for the most part it is simple and easy. The sys...

The best table saw (and shop) accessory I have ever owned

The best table saw (and shop) accessory I have ever owned

At the first woodworking show I attended years ago I became aware of the Incra table saw fence systems, and bought their first version almost 10 years ago. I upgraded to their LS system (lead-screw) about 4 years ago by purchasing a new postioner w/machined fence, which is even easier to use. What the Incra fence does is allow for precise and repeatable fence alignment on your table saw: > Precision – allows adjustments as fine as .001”, though their standard measuring meth...

Incra Measuring/Marking tool does it in Decimal and Metric!

Incra Measuring/Marking tool does it in Decimal and Metric!

A while ago I posted a review on a decimal measuring tape and some of you liked decimals. If you haven’t already HERE is it. Well for those of you that do, I have another product that uses them. It’s the Incra Professional T-Rule. As you can see from he first picture it has the same features as the regular Incra rules except this one has markings for decimal and metric! Now this feature is only included on the “Professional” model. Also it still retains the stand...

Incra Ultra Lite on Jessem Table

Incra Ultra Lite on Jessem Table

738 days ago by TechRedneck | 6 comments »

Being a weekend woodworker (some evenings too) my time is important. Most of the joinery I’ve done is the basic stuff.. Biscuits, dadoes, M&T and pocket hole. I wanted a system to make some nice jewelry boxes for my grandchildren and step up my work a notch without spending a ton of money on a bunch of dovetail jigs, and making a bunch of box joint jigs that take up room in the shop. The Incra system interested me. I watched the videos and thought the concept was interesting fr...

Incra's 52inch LS positioner package!

Incra's 52inch LS positioner package!

One year ago I began the quest to make things from wood. I have learned so much in one year and I still have a long way to go. After a satisfying purchase of a Incra1000se miter gauge, I thought I couldn’t go wrong with this LS positioner plunge. I was right, this system cuts extremely accurate. That micro-adjust knob is excellent, you can move it by the thousands of an inch. You can truly move the fence with shear accuracy. The wonderfence did take a few extra steps to square up but it...

Micro Jig SteelPro Splitter - for 1/8" Kerf Blades

Micro Jig SteelPro Splitter - for 1/8" Kerf Blades

You can purchase this product from Incra for about $35. I was interested in getting a splitter that I would use, as my rip guard/splitter was a pain to install every time I wanted to rip something. It comes as a kit, with an installation jig, and several splitters of various widths. The instruction sheet was fairly easy to follow. You need a couple pieces of 1/2 inch stock, one for the jig to attach to, and one as a test piece. They have you drill the holes in your saw insert with the prov...

Precision at a Bargain Price

Precision at a Bargain Price

If you are like me, you see the pictures of the Incra Table Saw or Router fences, drool a bit, look at your wallet, sigh, and move on. While trolling Craig’s List, I stumbled onto the Incra Jig.. for $30! I looked at the picture and, after my disappointment that someone was NOT selling the table saw system for $30 (HA!), I was pretty intrigued by the tool and did some Internet research… Apparently, the Incra Jig (or Incra Universal Jig) was Incra’s first product. It...

incra i-box a nice little jig

incra i-box a nice little jig

31 days ago by awlee | 6 comments »

I’m a fan of Incra tools and was very happy to get the I-box jig for box joints as a gift. The jig is sturdy, made of extruded aluminum and MDF, and includes an instructional DVD. Set up is easy. The instructions in both the DVD and the handbook are clear and easy to follow. I set mine up for a table saw, though there is an option to set up for a router table too; and one can go back and forth between table saw or router table without much fussing. Set up took me an hour-and-a-half (but ...

Incra T-rule very nice indeed

Incra T-rule very nice indeed

1531 days ago by Craftsman on the lake | 17 comments »

A short while back I purchased the Incra 6” T-rule. it is a small piece of t-track with a precision rule attached to it. Two knobs allow you to slide the rule along the t-track to make a square out of it. The thing has scales and numbers galore and if you don’t have new eyes, then like me you may need your magnifiers. Even though, the numbers and lines are extremely crisp and clear. It has scales for 1/16”, 1/32”, and 1/64”’s The thing that makes this rule ...
