Lithium-ion 18Volt Impact Driver/Driver Drill/Flashlight

Lithium-ion 18Volt Impact Driver/Driver Drill/Flashlight

1438 days ago by Karson | 9 comments »

I bought this drill/driver for a deck for my daughter, my Ridged batteries were dying a fast death. A side note on the construction. I bought a Hitachi 18 volt drill and ratched drill at Lowes for $229.00 before I went. Model WH 18DSAL Hitachi site I charged up both batteries. Everything worked great. All joyce hangers, screws up to 3 1/2”, decking boards, facia boards stairs were attached with the two screw guns. It required an additional charge on each battry and a second charge on...

A great buy for the price at Lowes Hardware

A great buy for the price at Lowes Hardware

1451 days ago by cabinetmaster | 16 comments »

My boss went to Lowes Hardware the other night and came back and handed me this combo set of drill and impact. Lowes has this on sale this week for only $149. The Impact by itself sells for $129. I used it all day Friday and let me tell you. This impact alone has more power than the regular 12 volt Hitachi impact driver. And light. Every time I pick it up I wonder if someone took the battery out. This impact and drill are so light weight and comfortable. You can use these drills all day an...

Hitachi C12LSH sliding compound saw - A tale of woes

Hitachi C12LSH sliding compound saw - A tale of woes

1488 days ago by WhittleMeThis | 7 comments »

I was shopping for a new Sliding Compound Miter Saw and looked at all the offerings from the major tool manufacturers. I came across the Hitachi 12” sliding compound saw and, being somewhat of a gadget person, I found the digital miter gauge and the laser guide compelling features along with the short  rear footprint requirement (sliding saws are notorious for requiring a huge amount of space behind the saw for slide travel). Having my interest peaked I read some reviews from a few of ...

First Saw and Glad I Bought It

First Saw and Glad I Bought It

1507 days ago by Mookie | 20 comments »

This is my first post and it’s about my first saw. I started woodworking a couple of years ago almost as a fluke. I bought a drill press because it was only $99 and from there I started buyng other power tools and suddenly discovered I really liked woodworking. I bought the Hitachi at Lowe’s after asking a guy at Woodcraft what he thought about the specs of the Hitachi for a beginner. I had no idea what or how much I would be cutting and $500 was a HUGE investment at the time....

Excellent Performer for the Money

Excellent Performer for the Money

The M12VC is Hitachi’s basic fixed base 11 amp router, that includes variable speed, soft start, and electronic feedback to maintain a set RPM throughout the cut. It’s also available in a kit as the KM12VC that includes both the fixed and plunge bases. The sub-base accepts the standard size PC style bushing adaptors. I purchased the M12VC in hopes it would be more manageable than my heavier Bosch 1617 for dovetail work. Mine was a refurb purchased through Reconditioned Sale...

Hitachi CW 40 16" Scroll Saw

Hitachi CW 40 16" Scroll Saw

1574 days ago by MrsN | 8 comments »

For Mother’s Day last year my husband asked what I wanted. I said a scroll saw. I didn’t know what I was going to do with it, but I didn’t have one and I wanted one. Since that is about the same logic that keeps my husband buying chain saws I knew my reasoning would work. (I think the chain saw count is up to 6, just yesterday he came home saying “but I don’t have this one, and it has a turbo, none of mine have a turbo)Not knowing exactly what I would do with the...

Powerful corded drill for serious users

Powerful corded drill for serious users

1639 days ago by ferstler | 0 comments »

I picked this drill up at Lowe’s for $119 quite some time ago when my wife decided I would build an extensive wooden walkway network out in our yard. Since such things are going to have to be built out of pressure-treated wood I knew I would need a powerful drill to push 1/2-inch bits through wet lumber. I had already drilled lumber like that for a deck job some years back, and I will say that the 3/4 amp drills I had on hand to do the work were stressed by the project considerably. ...

worked the saw hard for 2 years

worked the saw hard for 2 years

1651 days ago by Todd McDonald "2 Bored Saws" | 2 comments »

I bought that same saw (Hitachi) two years ago, I have worked it hard cutting 3×3x8’ oak up into 1×1x8’ then into 1×1x5 inches, it has never quit me. I threw that plastic dust collection pan in the trash, and make my own that fits a 4” duct. I am about to buy another one. This saw has made me alot of money. I don’t use it every day, but every other day I work the crap out of it. I am not a pro (not close) just a extra money type a job. All my cuts ...

Hitachi 10in 40t ATB, good deal at about $25

Hitachi 10in 40t ATB, good deal at about $25

1730 days ago by dsb1829 | 6 comments »

I have been using cheap and hand-me-down blades ever since I got my first tablesaw a couple years ago. Sawing has always been loud. Smoke and dust always looming in the near future for anything thicker than 1/2”. I hadn’t been too pleased with my last purchase. Go figure $10 is not going to cut too well. So I was in Lowe’s the other day. I had a $10 coupon that required me to get my total up to $50 to use. I was drawn over to the saw blades by the Ice finish on the ...

Hitachi C10FL Hybrid Table Saw - Awesome saw for the money

Hitachi C10FL Hybrid Table Saw - Awesome saw for the money

1814 days ago by Weekend_Carpenter | 13 comments »

I just bought this saw ($499 – 15%(Promo) – 10% (coupon) -$100 (gift card thru MIR), and I love it. This is my second table saw, and I am far from a professional woodworker (that is why I bought a $500 TS ;), and not a $1000+ Jet table saw). I have used it with pine and cedar in the month that I have had it. It cut great through both, even when using the dado blade. This saw is not perfect, but it is a lot better than the others in the same price range. Here are the pros, and cons (and no I d...
