Glue Line Rip !

Glue Line Rip !

When Freud claims that this blade will give you flawless rips and glue joints, they are not boasting.I purchased this blade few months back but never got around using it until this week when I got tired cleaning the mess my jointer was making.Long story short, this put my jointer to shame. The cut is so smooth; you may have to scuff it up a bit before gluing.Well, I’m not the least bit surprised, Freud makes some of the longest lasting and sharpest router bits and saw blades around. it&...

Freud Jointer knives = POOP

Freud Jointer knives = POOP

These blades are so dull, I couldn’t even cut my finger with these. I contacted Freud directly about it and all I received was “thats our blades thats how they come. If you don’t like it you should return them to where you bought them. We don’t get any complaints about our blades” Umm YES you do get complaints because I was complaining with him right then. The dull blades I am replacing are sharper than these brand new Freud blades and Freud has ZERO concer...

Blade marks

Blade marks

584 days ago by pintodeluxe | 26 comments »

Had blade marks after ripping 1.5” white oak. Even after taking a skim cut with featherboard and zero clearance insert with thin kerf splitter I still had blade marks. Not burning, just the sort of cut that reveals its imperfections when you hold it up to the light. My industrial full kerf combination blade sure makes glassy smooth cuts compared to this one. In fact I had to switch back to the Freud combination blade to make skim cuts on all boards. Too much work. This one is goi...

Very good ripping (and crosscutting!) blade

Very good ripping (and crosscutting!) blade

759 days ago by dedalo | 22 comments »

Last week I received this saw blade from Rockler. This is my first “professional” blade, until now just used the blades that came with the machines I bought or some cheap blades I could get a local stores. In my last proyect I realized 2 things (using the dewalt blade that came with the saw) 1.- Big quantity of wood consumed by each cut2.- The finish was VERY poor I couldn’t glue the faces without sanding… The things that made me choose this blade: 1.- ...

Freud insert router bits

Freud insert router bits

476 days ago by vipond33 | 22 comments »

This is a review of Freud insert router bits but also a review of these bits in general as there seems to be some re-branding of the tools going on. I have bits from Freud, Amana, CMT and Dimar, some with identical bodies. Regardless of manufacture, having one of these bits would be an important addition to any shop. You can achieve perfect glass smooth surfaces on any wood, even going completely against the grain. Fluffy, curly snowflakes of shavings will hang in the air while you work an...

The search has ended

WOW, what can I say. This is another pleasant surprise from Freud. In my search for a super thin kerf saw blade under 20. The Demo demon @ $15.00 although not designed for table saw and ripping gets my 5 star.Gives extremely clean cut with not too slow but steady feed rate and at 1/16 kerf, No waste and oh my, almost no dust. You can see the cut is practically glue ready.Since this is 7 ¼ blade and super thin, I don’t recommend using it on any stock thicker than 3/4 It may deflect but you do g...

Router Table

Router Table

856 days ago by Bill St.Pierre | 16 comments »

I purchased a Freud router table and router 2 years ago and liked it so much I bought another one last year so I had 2 when making rails and stiles.I have been having trouble with the stiles because it was as if the lumber was not straight when I would run it so the profile was uneven across the piece. I finally realized that the table top had bowed from the weight of the router so the center of the table was off about an 1/8”. I brought it to the attention of my local Woodcraft store ...

Awesome BLADE for the $$

Awesome BLADE for the $$

534 days ago by Lance | 16 comments »

Hey guys, this is my first review for any woodworking tool, I’ve been in this hobby since April of this year. When it comes to being satisfied with any product I’m hard to please, I like quality for my dollar so this is a strict and honest review. I have the Ridgid R4512 TS and I’ve been using the original blade since day one, never cleaned it, never sharpened it either, it’s been preforming the same since day one. I’ve used the original blade to build less th...

Sweet!

Sweet!

When I ordered this blade I wasn’t sure what to expect, other than it being better then the general, all-purpose blade I was using to cut some hard maple on my tablesaw. This was one of the lower priced blades from Rockler wen I was looking at Rip blades and easier to justify to my wife that I needed this blade. I just got the blade today and it worked great! To give you a little background, I have a Craftsman tablesaw that I upgraded with the V poly belt. Nothing special about it, ...
