Craftsman 10" Contractor Table Saw Model 21833 Review

Craftsman 10" Contractor Table Saw Model 21833 Review

I’ve had my Craftsman Table Saw for about a year now, and it is rock solid!  I previously owned a craftsman saw that had the tabletop made out of aluminium.  It was okay for the money, but wasn’t very sturdy.  Frequently when I would feed plywood into the table it would tip the whole saw.  My new saw has been really solid and almost a year later I can say I’m very happy with it. Before I go any further though I have to say I have a weird myopic bias for and against ...

A neighbour down the street asked me to look at his mitre saw. He said it wasn’t cutting square in any direction. I tuned it up best as I could and figured, while I’m here, I could review it. 10 inch Craftsman Professional, at first, I was impressed. Craftsman engineers did a good job disguising cheap metal as a ‘professional saw’. The only reason I’m going to be so harsh on this saw is the fact they stick a big “PROFESSIONAL” logo on them. I’...

Great router, great value

Great router, great value

As you can probably tell by my reviews, I am not a tool snob. I am an IT engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering, and am very vigilant about finding the best tool that suits my needs for the best price. Also of note, I have a lot of what most would consider cheap tools. I am not bragging at all, but our household income would likely invoke the “99%” crowd to picket at my doorstep. I feel it is important to mention this because a lot of reviews of “cheap&#...

First Impression Review

First Impression Review

Here is my first blush review after less than 5 hours of use: ====================== the Good - Out of the box, the blade was dead nuts on. I did not have the problem that others have had with the blade becoming off angled at full height. Assembly was actually really easy once I looked at the parts and the instructions closely on “difficult” sections. I feel that if you need this kind of table saw and have problems assembling it, you really aren’t reading the ins...

Craftsman 22116 Premium Hybrid Tablesaw

Craftsman 22116 Premium Hybrid Tablesaw

I’ve only had this saw 3 1/2 months but I think I can give a good review. I have to start by saying I did not shop for a new saw. I had a 7 year old Craftsman21140 that Sear’s techs basically ruined, & this is a replacement, but I had to pay $250. out of pocket. You could see that on my ” How I wound up with….” forum post. I really have nothing to compare this saw to, but the 21140. This is a significant upgrade. I really liked the 21140. Doesn’t look t...

Bowl Making Machine

Bowl Making Machine

I bought this lathe used 2 years ago from my neighbor who also turned bowls with it. It’s powerful and easy to use. It will turn up to 38” spindles and turn 15” bowls inboard and up to 20” bowls outboard. I have made about 100 bowls with it and the only issue was the cooling fan belt slipped off once, easy fix. The headstock and tailstock are aligned perfectly and it accepts all the popular accessories like other brands. It may not be a Jet or Nova, but it is buil...

From Purgatory To Rebirth Zip Code TS

From Purgatory To Rebirth Zip Code TS

Hey Jocks and Jockettes, Disclaimer: I gave this product a 2- star rating just based on the problems detailed below. After much drama, hand-wringing, and pure obsession, the 22124 Zip CodeTS is almost complete except for the outfeed table. It was purchased off of CL. The saw was still on the pallet with the steel cage on it. The seller brought two of them in a semi lot of stuff. He sells the stuff at a little store in a small town in southern IL. Very nice man. He wanted $600, no ...

And I got money’s worth with the Craftsman Contractor Table Saw, model 21833. One of the benefits to being out of work is that I can shop endlessly on Craigslist- I saw someone selling this good looking table saw for $450.00, checked the reviews on Lumberjocks and decided this might fit my needs. As luck would have it, there were 2 available at the Sears Outlet Store. One was in Minneapolis, 1,500 miles away and one at the store just 25 miles away. I hustled on over, paid $330.00 before ta...

My first bandsaw

My first bandsaw

I picked this up from Craigslist the other day for $200, not bad I thought. It’s got a 1 1/2hp motor so it should be a bit more powerful than the 3/4hp Ridgid that I was looking at. The best thing about this deal was the original owner put on a Kraig KMS7200 fence and added two resaw guides, an HTC2000 mobile base, and four blades. A smokin’ deal I thought. I have a question for all you experienced bandsaw guys: I adjusted the blade guides and then noticed the blade on the bott...

Nice Palm Router

Nice Palm Router

1069 days ago by Bob Kollman | 8 comments »

About a year and a half ago I bought this router for 37.00 scratch and dent at sears. This router is missing some of the features you’d find on the bosch, but for the majority of my work this particular model meets my needs. Mostly I use it for flush and trim cuts, I do lots of cuts on the band saw using templets, leaving enough materialfor this router to trim the remains. This router gets warm fast, but I have run this router for long periods with out burnout. This router is also grea...
