- scmi sandya 1
- Brand: scmi | Category: Sanders

My helpers in the picture are smiling as they install the new sander – they now have less work ! This is an “entry level” unit marketed by Mini Max, but still came with motorized digital controls and some other features that are very welcome. For grinding slabs flat , leveling glue lines , finishing flooring and wall paneling this thing is a huge labor saver. I think I will be smiling shortly also-

I am thinking about getting one. You sure got a high quality one. Does it have a fine sanding platen?

John, It comes with two platens . Roper , I had to tear out the only table in the main shop to find room. Chris , this machine will allow checks to be cashed that my body has already written -literally .

How wide an item can you slide through there, Rob? Also, is that a 10” vacuum line? 12”?

Power on site limited us to 37 inches , and I think the hose is 6 inches. Next week I will post some of the big counter tops I am running through the machine in pieces tomorrow – they look like bowling alleys—LOL

Beautiful machine Rob. I have a Jet 16-32 unit (for my work is fine) and it is a huge labor saver.

Freakin’ Sweet!
I have been dreaming of a wide belt over the dual headed drum sander I have.
I remember what life was like without the sander I have now. Now I want more!

Ohhhhhhh the lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. That’s a very impressive looking piece of machinery.
Not practical for the home workshop guys like most of us on here but well worth the money in a commercial application I’m sure.
PS: You forgot to post the address we can all ship our projects to for sanding..:)

Hi Rob,
Congratulations, You definitely have a fine machine.
I have an old model sandya uno 37”. Old and rickety but still hanging in there. Your new model sure has a lot of buttons on it. Mine has to be hand cranked to raise and lower it. LOL
I use it for so many things I can’t believe how I ever got along without it.
Good Luck with it, I hope it serves you well.

That’s one heck of a machine. I think like most, I’d need a bigger shop and more power to house that thing.

roman,
the carefully crafted pre-purchase presentation to my wife included references to how it would help the overall economy, it would leave me more time to spend with her, my hands will less resemble bear paws, and the clincher being I had to get SOMETHING for her birthday, which is this week. Suffice to say, it was not an easy sell, but preparation IS everything.

sweetest toy to date…..aside from a nice boat?
turns days of sanding into one hour…..........and the hour is money well spent
if it were not for friends who own one, I would be in a world of hurt!
Congrats
