My insider information has told me that Bosch is discontinuing the 1276 D and 1276DVS 4×24 belt sanders. The current stock will be sold out and no more will be made. Go figure. It is a work horse of a sander and one of the best on the market.
BoschCPO.com currently has is listed at $129.99 and on eBay the prices from some of the major internet sellers is also that low or lower. (I checked a couple of local stores that have a web site and it is still listed there at $230.00 or more.) The 1276 D single speed sander is the only one with a lowered price but I believe that the variable speed version, 1276DVS, will soon follow.
If you want a real work horse of a sander, this is the one to get. Built heavily and built to last and now at a great price. (I just bought the 5th one for the shop and will get one or two more for back ups. Three have been rebuilt and are in the wings ready to be used.)

THX for the info. Not sure if VS is worth the extra 130.00. you can always use a variable speed control box if needed.

I have been needing a belt sander and I just recieved money for my birthday this past weekend for one. Looks like you twisted my arm and I bought one for $135 shipped to my house. Thank you for letting us know!
