- paddock tool co bandsaw guides
- Brand: paddock tool co | Category: Bandsaw Accessories

On Friday we sent the back of the resaw blade clean through the upper and lower thrust bearings resulting in crash burn fire etc . I did some research on blade guides and Monday morning ordered a pair of model #20 guides from WWW.paddocktool.com , mounted them on Tuesday , and finished the job run an hour ago . We are resawing 15 inch boards that are fairly demanding and I am VERY pleased with the guides . Hope this helps someone looking for good guides .

What guides did you consider? What about the Paddock guides did you like the most? What has been your experience with them so far? What bandsaw did you put them on?

I looked at Carter, Laguna and original equipment replacements. I sought out and found people with hands on experience in all three. the paddock guides were recommended to me by someone with a lot more experience in woodworking than myself to be a heavy duty answer to my growing shop. My experience since Tuesday has been favourable. I have run a couple of thousand linear feet of 12” or better boards through the re-saw. If I were to design bandsaw guides, they would look like this. They are fitted to an MM 28x centauro. I ordered a second identical set for my 24” today. The guy that answers the phone says he has been selling these bandsaw guides for almost 70 years and I know why. Hope this helps.

Rob, do the little arms near the sides of the blade control flutter or drift?

No , flutter is held in check by the two large roller-bearings that are a couple thousands off the blade left and right . The thrust bearing has a groove that the blade rides in during normal cutting . Paddock Inc told me it is normal for the bearings to be engaged and spinning and are designed to do just that . The narrow slot in the “arms” is used as a sort of alignment window to set the guides up initially . On resawing these guides produce a very consistent product .
