I’ve had my Mast-T-Lift II for a while now in a shop built router table. It’s set up for under table dust collection and does pretty well but I am always looking for was to improve dust collection, especially for routing. Recently, I purchased the Cleansweep magnalock rings in the hope they would help.

Well, they do. I did some simple tests with the stock magna lock rings and then with the clean sweep ones. I routed a 3/8” x 1/2” rabbet in several pieces of pine. With the standard rings, I had to use a larger opening than I wanted to let the DC work well. In the second picture you can see the results of using one of the stock inserts with DC on. I gathered all the dust and chips left on the table after routing the rabbet. In the third picture you can see the same thing for the cleansweep rings with DC turned on. I again gathered all the dust left on the table after routing the rabbet. There was hardly any dust at all – mostly just a few larger chips.

Also, what you don’t see in the pictures is that when I first started cutting the rabbet, a plume of dust would shoot out in front the of the work piece. With the stock ring, a fair amount of that would shoot past the edge of the table. With the clean sweep ring, almost of that was pulled under the table by the DC. Clearly, Incra did a good job of engineering these rings.

Note also, that this was with no dust port on the fence, just under table DC. I’ve very happy not having to monkey with a fence mounted dust hose.

Worth $50? I’d say so.

One bad news/good news item though. Two of the rings in the 5 ring set didn’t seat properly in the lift. However, I contact Incra and they very quickly responded that they were mailing me replacements. Great products, great CS, I’m definitely a fan of Incra.

Thanks for the review. Glad to hear they work as well as it looks in the videos. Wish they fit my plate.
May just modify the ones I have.

They are definitely a good design and worth the money. I have a set for both router tables.

Have your say...
