This is the second project I am using this Router Plane on and it is working great. It is very easy to make adjustments and lock down the blade. The handles are in a very comfortable position which makes it very easy to control the cuts as you push\slice thru the 1\2” dado in this case. I am making more shelving for inside my tool cabinet to accomodate several new planes and hand saws. I have only used this plane on Pine and Poplar, but will be trying it out on some Bubinga next, I’ll let you know how it turns out.
The fit and finish as well as the other attachment and bits are all first rate, as I have come to expect from using my other Veritas tools. I am glad to have this tool in my aresenal and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for an excuse to pick up another plane :)

I’ve always heard good things about Veritas hand tools. One of these days I’m going to have to try some. Thanx for the review!

Two thumbs up. I also have one and it was a very good buy. Works great, looks great, & very reasoble price. So far mine has seen action on cherry, mahogany, purpleheart, and even baltic birch ply with good results.

I recently picked up one of these myself. I thought it would be faster than a powered trim router for a few hinge mortises.

The Veritas router plane is a great tool has turned out to be much faster than the power tool in certain cases, as well as having much less disasterous mistakes! I also enjoy being able to mortise a hinge without ear protection, a face shield, and chips thrown 10 feet from the work. I’m glad I got one.
