Woodcarving Magic by Bjarne Jespersen
This book has me scratching my head.
Woodcarving Magic – while I think all woodworking projects are magical in themselves, this book focuses on creating those items that have free floating pieces inside of other pieces. There are the interlocking chains, of course, but what about a dodecahedron or a double star cage? Yes, indeed, I’m scratching my head!
As you might have noticed from past reviews, I like visuals – lots of visuals. Although this book has tons of inspirational photos, I, personally, find it lacking in the step-by-step photos. The instructions are there, however, including the tips on using pipe cleaners to create a mock-up of the carving project.
I think that carvers who want to have some fun with “magical” creations would enjoy this book and the challenge of creating these unique and head-scratching projects.

Looks like an interesting book and good to have available in your personal library. Wouldn’t mind having it in mine.

I really enjoy whittling and carving. I think the projects in the book would be real challenging it would be a great addition to my bookshelf.
