Having owned an Hitachi cf8 for years and very well pleased with it’s accuracy I was hard to please but along came the kapex KS120 by Festool and i was blowen away. The twin lasers and the fine adjustment built into the right sliding bar is awesome. The removable fences and hold downs are easly removed and the saw can be securely locked in any angle with ease. The dust extraction is fantastic especially when connected to a vacuum. Takes up less room as the head of the saw slides on the twin bars. just recently i was crosscutting some 9” x 3” beams and it was not a problem. The saw comes with an angle finder which slots into the base of the saw and can be used to adjust the saw to the measured angle. There is an excellent rebating(Rabbiting) facility and trims crown mouldings up to 168mm in their ‘original wall position’. There is also fastfix blade changing.

Idling speed – 1400-3400rpm
Saw blade dia. – 260mm (10 inches)
Cutting depth at 90/90deg – 305×88mm (12” x 3 1/2”)
Cutting depth at 45/90deg – 215×88mm (8 1/2” x 2 1/4”)
Cutting depth at 45/45deg (left) – 215×55mm (8 1/2” x 2 1/4”)
Cutting depth at 45/45deg (right) – 215×35mm (8 1/2×2 1/4”)
Special cutting depth at 45/90deg (right) – 20×120mm 3/4” X 4 3/4”)
Crown moulding diagonal cut – 168mm (6 5/8”)
Inclination angle – 47/47deg
Mitre angle – 50/60deg
Dimensions (WxDxH) – (713×500x470mm 28”x19 3/4”x 18 1/2”)
Dust extraction connection dia. – 27/36mm (1 1/8”/ 1 3/8”)

Hello thanks for you kind comment. Over here in Ireland we pay way too much for our tools this saw cost £780 sterling but I reckon it would be cheaper in the US.
Have a look at the website.

I wish I had seen this before I bought my Hitachi 12” CMS last fall.
Hitachi has gone out of their way to disappoint me for the last 4 months.
More on that later.
The Hitachi is O.K. and use the forward fitted sliders but the rest is no comparison to this machine.
Lucky you. ( only cry once)

p.s. how is this one for dust?

Hi Bob
Thanks for the comments.
The dust control is brilliant espically with a vacuum attached.
The rubber shroud at the back of the blade works very well.
