I got mine several years ago, after installing the new top I put a piece of 1/8” luan ply over it so my top does not get all cut up, hopefully it will last longer now.

Beginner, Sears apparently had some safety issues with certain saws. You can do a search on Sears radial arm recall and it brings up the site. It tells you they will send you the kit free as long as they last. After that you send them the motor and they will give you $100. You have to have the model number and the serial number to complete the application on the internet.
