Photobucket won’t let me look at the pics unless I disable my AdBlocker. Not interested in turning that off.
Can you simply put them in your post as an attachment?

They came and took back their wood?

Why does nobody post pictures of the leaves? It is so much easier to identify a tree by its leaves than by its wood and bark.

I don’t get this! I saw the image and some other buttons to insert them directly. But, the moment I typed my first letter here, they went away! There’s nought there but a blank space!
I’m gonna try this… I’ll cut this and restart this page. I did that once and the image button came back. Then after the images are posted (I hope) I’ll paste this text in place. Here goes…
...
[quote]”Why does nobody post pictures of the leaves? It is so much easier to identify a tree by its leaves than by its wood and bark.”[end quote]
BECAUSE… The tree owner had cut away the small branches and cleaned away the small debris. I didn’t have my camera there to take pics there and the rest had already been cut into logs.
At least I think I have the pics in here and working. Now, if we can just figure out why my buttons keep going away?!

Well, the wood is light enough to be maple, but the bark isn’t like our maples out here (which are mainly bigleaf maple). I wanted to see the leave because there are other trees, namely gum and sycamore that look like maple leaves but aren’t.

I know what you mean about the leaves. We have a lot of oak here- Pin oak, post oak, red oak, white, ad infinitum, ad nauseum… and sure you can tell a lot by the wood itself thanks to oak’s unique grain features but, the leaves will cinch it.

Anyway, thanks for trying.

I’ll make something inconsewuential out of the stuff and report back later with how it turns out and how it behaved.
