Like you, I am not familiar with the Rexon brand. The company claims to have operated under the ISO9001 certification since 1996. This standard, from what I understand, ensures quality control management is practiced in their factories. I doubt this company is the same as Powermatic, but Powermatic may be a customer. Info about Rexon can be found at…$1001&IDK=2&DATA=-1&EXEC=L

I believe I would look around a bit and buy a saw that I knew that I could get parts for. You’ve got a saw now so I would try to wait a find a good deal on craigslist.

If you have a c-man contractor saw, that is basically what that rexon is – so I’m not sure how much of an upgrade it would be for you. But a quick look in your area turned up a bunch of nice saws, including a couple Unisaws, that were well within your budget.

Rexon is a Taiwanese company, they are still in business and still sell saws. That saw appears to be a clone of early contractor saws. It’s overpriced and a minimal upgrade to what you have already. Save another hundred bucks and buy the Delta at Lowes.

A pic of your saw would give us some better idea of what you’ve got, which would give us some indication of how much of an upgrade it would be. The Rexon doesn’t appear to have any safety features either, and $300 seems a bit steep, but the Vega fence would likely offer a nice upgrade. The motor might be a little beefier, and has a nice mobile base. The grated cast iron wings might be an upgrade from what you’ve got too.

Thanks a ton for all your assist here. I ended up following your advice and passing on that saw. I found a craftsman 152.221240 hybrid saw for $250.
It’s In great shape but missing the splitter/miter gauge (basically anything that you could lose was lost). Anything bigger would have been too much for my space. As

With $250 left in my budget though I think i can pick those up aftermarket and remain under.

Thanks again for you assist – I’ll post pics of the saw once it’s assembled
