not positive, but sounds like personal preference. if your doors are full overlay, they are proud of the face frame by the depth of the door. if the top overhangs the frame by 1”, they only overhang the doors by 1/4”?

had to make a bathroom vanity myself. i ended up building the cabinet flush to the wall, cutting out part of the baseboard so the back legs were also flush (next vanity, i’ll just move the back legs forward of the baseboard, duh), putting the top flush against the wall, but using inset doors with a 1” overhang of the vanity sink top. i could have used a 3/4” overhang, or a 1.5” overhang, just depending on the look i wanted.

in your case, i’d prob use sketchup to draw it out, see what the overhang looks like at 1” and 1.5” with overlay doors.

can’t wait to see what it looks like :-)
