Looks similar to Ginko Biloba leaf.

That is some gorgeous wood and I have no idea what it is but I’m pretty sure it’s not poplar. At least not like the poplar over here on the other coast. If you had just shown the leaves, I would have guessed cabbage :-)

I came across a site, which should def help me in the future.

Found Bauhinia variegata (Purple orchid tree) has the same leaf, only thing is I cant find any photos of the actual wood to referance.
