Identifying two types of wood

I’d guess black oak for the tall one and birch for the short one … too bad you don’t have leaves!

I think that the top one is a fruit tree, probably some type of cherry. The bottom one looks like mimosa.

last one looks like Persian silk tree. the other ones look like hickory.

Thanks for the help so far everyone, I’m leaning towards the cherry right now do to the curl I see in the glare of the sun for the taller pieces. This is what I have done with them, just need some oil on them, should bring the grain out nicely. Also another small cutoff piece of the taller cuts that has been sanded with some danish oil applied to see if that helps the guessing game. The smaller cut I’m leaning towards birch but is there birch in so cal?

Yes, that is cherry. No native birch in So Cal. Most likely an exotic.
