I get a lot of screw drivers, mag lights, hammers, tape measures, small Craftsman socket sets, etc… those smaller ticket gift items at Christmas time. We used to travel a lot for Christmas and have large family get together and would rack up on this sort of stuff. My wife and I started just leaving everything in the hotel room with a note.

I still end up with too much in the shop and just keep a small box in the corner and fill it up. I started some time ago just taking the stuff to Goodwill. Most of it I know I won’t use as I don’t like it or usually have bought what I wanted. Upgrade equipment usually take the old stuff to work and give to whoever will take it. Got rid of last table saw that way. My shop is small so I really try and keep things in check and make decisions of do I really need, will I use, how frequently will I need it etc….

Have your say...
