Welcome to LJs! It is very addicting, and yes there’s probably more info and variety here than any other website dealing with woodworking. There are a lot of great folks always willing to give help and advice. It’s a great site!

the only way i can get anything done ,
is to leave the computer on in the next room ,
one with a chair , and check it out when i hear the little ‘ping’ ,
that way i can cut cut a piece of wood once in a while ,
and run back to comment while the glue is setting !

welcome to LJ’s .

Yeah, sure, it works for you. But what if your computer is in another whole building? How are you supposed to get any work done with the shakes and cold sweats goin’ on? (all in complete jest, of course)

Hey , clarence,I hear ya….......BUT it is much better than spending that time watching the boob tube. There is nothing on there worth your time like this site. And you can talk to fellow woodworkers all over the world!

ps, I’ve just been here 2 hours when I have a project going in the shop.

It is hard to find time to work in the shop when there is so much to do here. But there will be plenty of time to work in the shop after I am caught up here. LOL

Have a piece of aromatic cedar next to your computer, & take a sniff once in awhile.

You’ll think you’re out in your shop…...<(:O}#

I use to lurk on the other forums, was so boring I would fall asleep at my computer, then I found words to describe it except not boring. like a text and troubleshooting guide, woodworking family, like being in a woodworking class being taught by masters…I don’t drink, don’t smoke, never done drugs, never chase other women…but…I call LJ my dope now..that’s about the total of my vocabulary..

If you need help with the least little thing—no matter how big or small, just click on LJs and ask the “masters of woodworking”. These guys really know their stuff when it comes using the right tool, how to finish, which wood is best for what project, on and on and on. Everybody is here to help, so don’t hesitate to ask. Oh—and welcome to the “Jocks”, cause there is a bunch of them on here!!!! Keep on keeping on!!!!!!!!

I love it. Its the CFO who hates it. She thinks I spend enough time on woodworking now. Ah but I’ll not be running away got many moons of reading and admiring the great work to go.

I don’t know how Patron and some of the others get any work done if they have their computers near their shop! There is so much info on this site, you could sit here for weeks and not get it all.

Take tonight for instance, GaryK has just given me a new project with his table saw grabber thingy. That is so cool!

I hate it too! I keep coming back everyday to see if they’ve changed, but I keep finding all this interesting stuff, and getting nice notes from people, etc….its sickening I tell ya! Don’t even talk to my wife about it!

Yeah, This site has cost me a lot of money this year! , buying all the suggested “bargains”, then feeling guilty for spending, so I have to go spend more for the wife!l

I hear you, this is the first “hate group” I ever joined :) I am an IT tech and so I have an office in the house. What was once a more pristine office place is now littered occasionally with sawdust and even the keyboard is giving off an odor of pine and cedar. I will work on something then look on here during my breaks. I hope I never have to send my laptop to the desktop folks here. “Mr. Craig, I think we found the problem with your laptop, it would appear that the touch pad has been overcoated with polyurethane…”
