Gotta be a use. A lathe person would probably like it more.

very expensive to make, my son is making bats, because you have to use 12 quarter lumber, no glue ups allowed. i think they would be very good barbecue wood.

Fresh from the lathe , yet he lost his storage….does that mean the wife told him NO MORE !!
Depending on what they got rejected for , perhaps a bunch of salt and pepper grinders could be made.
Or , a very short fence…..

That looks like a LOT of bats and he says ya gotta take ALL of them! All the above ideas are good ones but not something I need.

Stool legs for a baseball-themed room; shop stool legs; headboard for a baseball-themed bed. I could use a few of them, but certainly not 400.

I would guess that there’s several of each size. Maybe make the barrels into lamp posts. Supposed to be solid wood. Slice them up for other projects. With your box-making skills I bet you could incorporate them somehow.

lathe tool handles perhaps. Lots of lathe tools but anyone that needed 400 bats should have a lot of lathe tools.

Giant wooden spider legs, wooden wheel spokes, rube goldberg baseball hitting contraption. Baseball trophys for local schools, paint them red and pass them off as small lightsabers, chop sticks for mountain trolls, create a new super suit like ironman but with bats .. so like bat guy or something.

After looking at each bat to see how bad the blemish is, put it back into a lathe & Finish the bat…

... or

Put it in the Firewood stack… Would be great firewood.

Almost every game, two or three supposedly “Good” bats shatter into splinters…
If these are ones that they actually saw defects in, they can’t be very useful…
And who ever heard of Oak Bats anyway??

Andy, buy them, build a belfry and store them in it.

Then when the kids say you are nuts….. you can honestly say, “I’ve got bats in my belfry!”

I would take a dozen or so from you if you happened to buy them.

I used to know a guy who took all the broken bats from the field where he was the organist, and then used them to create coat hanger rack, hat racks, ball racks, and all kind of things. He did really well selling them and got them free. If you can market these types of things it might be worthwhile. Get some decals for the local team and incorporate them into the finished product.

There is a guy on Lumberjacks that made a bed head and tail board with baseball bats, maybe he may want to make more. I live in South Africa otherwise I would take them to use on stool legs for a bar or stools for kitchen breakfast server..
