I also was thinking about building something. Anyone have any ideas? Should I use light wood or dark? I was thinking that I might be able to add something to what I build. I’m not sure what but I’m open to any and all ideas.

Coachmancuso, I would suggest you view the project section for end tables or tables and you will find plenty of examples. Also google free plans for end tables and you will probably find plenty of examples. Don’t let sarcastic remarks on this board from detering you from your mission. Good luck on your end tables.

Here is one I made, I could give you some pointers, this was a pretty simple design held together with Pocket Hole Screws. You could add a shelf or even a drawer if you are feeling fiesty.

Coach…winter time brings a lot of “snipers”. Here is a “mission style” table I made from an old cherry beam (twisted. checked, more sawdust than lumber but at the end it has the wormholes/tracks intact). I’ve made others from oak and pine. I don’t have any plans but if you are interested I’ll be happy to advise.

Coach, let me put it like this. What you are asking for here is like walking into a paint store and asking for some paint.

No colour, no quantity, no type. Just ‘some paint’. And then you’re asking how to apply it.

It doesn’t surprise me that some people are playing around. You haven’t done your homework and it’s like you want someone to do it for you. JMHO
