After: “Sure honey, I’ll stop what I am doing, change blades on the table saw, get the cross cut sled and cut up and drill a dozen blanks for you. I wasn’t doing anything important anyway.”

Before: Dang, it still doesn’t fit… I’ll give the table saw fence one more tap…
After: Hmmm… I wonder if anyone on Lumberjocks has ever had to fill-in those kind of gaps?!

Before: I’ve thought about this design for a month. It WILL work.
After: Okay, the full size mattress doesn’t fit in the bed…. How do I expand a bed.. hmmm….

I’ll make a blanket chest using only biscuits and glue. I could have glued up four sides of this thing without those $%&#$%#$ biscuits and made it better three weeks ago.

Or my favorite quandary…All the saws are square, I measured four times with Grissly machine tools and still the damn thing has a gap, only to realize the board cupped a bit after I planed it.

A clamp a chisel and a sander will fix most anything.

For me, it’s “after and before”, not “before and after” :

After: Christ, I’m glad that’s out of my shop. NO MORE COMMISSIONS!

before: I’ll be over in a minute
after: Sorry, but, I cut my phone line in half planting a tree, a water pipe broke in the basement, my dvr remote doesn’t wanna work, we have a flat tire, the power went out, the battery in the truck is dead, I stubbed my toe on the coffee table and can’t walk….......etc… lol I’m sure everyone o these has happened to me,.... just in the past month…..... (another reason I have no projects to post….. true story) well, some of it is true hehehe

Before: I need the hole right here.
After: I needed the hole 1” to the left…..

Just happened – Before: I’m going put a shelf pin hole at the mid point and then 4 more equally spaced above midpoint.
After: A shelf pin hole perfectly placed at midpoint and 4 equally spaced below midpoint….
I could go on forever. My favorite – I need a left and a right side. After – how did I get 2 left sides???

After: Wife… “when are you going to finish that and that and that?” Me…”Right after I complete this honey!”

Before: “Thats cheap! Think I’ll buy it.”
After: need a new one Wallet…”Thats cheap think I’ll buy it” Brain…”You’ll regret it like the first one!” Wallet usually wins a few more times before brain overrides.

Before: Think I’ll have some coffee and look at lumberjocks before I get started.
After: Well it’s to late too start now. Think I’ll look at lumberjocks some more.

Before: “This is a place for woodworking not politics, people are too mean. I’m tired of being forced to read it. We should ban that subject to bring back civility!”
After: “Nice move on banning politics! Looking forward to a more peaceful, respectful site. It’s about time those jacka**es are put in their place! Need some more cheese with that whine?”

Before: I think I’ll be okay. After all, I saw him do it many times.
