Looks like a great deal on a used manual sawmill for someone who’s in the market. Check hardwood prices and it won’t take but 2 or 3 trees cut into lumber, dried and made into products to pay for this mill. I wish I’d found a great mill at this price when I was looking for a manual sawmill.

Anyone who’s undecided, but would like to justify owning a sawmill check the free section of Craig’s List in your area for free logs and/or trees. Then look up the price for lumber in your area. You won’t make a fortune selling barn lumber made with a manual sawmill, but if you reduce the price you pay for hardwood lumber and sell your products made from your lumber, you can make money with a manual sawmill. I spend a couple of days a month sawing lumber with my manual sawmill and the lumber I produce keeps me busy carving gunstocks and making furniture. Plus opening a log and seeing what’s inside is very much like searching for buried treasure. You never know what you are going to find.

Hal,

That has been exactly my experience. I have sawn about 50,000 BF, and if you value that lumber, the mill has paid for itself many many times over. That walnut log on the first picture alone would go a long way towards paying for a mill like this one.

If any LJ’s secretly always wanted to saw their own lumber, here is your chance!

I have been keeping my eyes on the lt15 used market for most of the year waiting for a good deal to show up. I just made a large lumber purchase that I would have much rather spent on this mill. Good luck selling

I sure would LOVE to have it, however, I have no truck and live in Iowa. I have been begging my wife for 2 years to get one.

I thought if I bought one my brother in law could help mill our 100 acres of Black walnut and sell it to help him since he needs a job.

I sure hope you sell it soon or I maybe sleeping outside withit.

WDHLT15... Uh oh, my “need to buy things” sense is tingling. I’ll be in ATL at the end of this month. If you had a trailer to transport that thing, I might be all over it.

Let me see what I can do, I might pick it up from you regardless. What else does it come with? You can PM me if you want.

Isaac, what do you need cut… I know a guy who just might be buying that at the end of this month and will be in the ATL area (Midtown Music) LOL

Actually, I already bought the replacement mill and it is still sitting on the trailer waiting for the old one to find a new home.

So WDHLT15, you gonna send me some more info to my PM or what? Anything that comes with it?

I’m interested, but if I can’t transport it back to MS, then it’s going to be a problem LOL (I don’t think it’ll fit in the bed of my F250).

Sorry Doss,

I did not get a PM. Was it a PM or was it an e-mail? Anyway, I just sent you a PM. I gave you my cell phone # if you would like to call me to discuss the mill.

Clark,

Get that workbench finished! I still have plenty of wood! I have some quartersawn sycamore drying that is as good as it gets!

Thanks WD. I should’ve clarified that I was waiting for a PM from you with any details. You supplied them and I’ll see what I can do. I’ll be in ATL next weekend, but I have a feeling that I’m going to be carrying home stuff from Ikea and DWR for friends. If it’s still around for my next pass (if I can’t get it this pass), I’ll probably try to throw it in the bed of the truck.

Thanks.

Like he said – is it still for sale? i have been looking at them for over twenty-five years, but was never a very realistic fantasy. These days, i have more ideas and options than rational thoughts or practicality. rac

I’ve made the mistake of seeing an old post that someone has made a new comment on and then thinking it is a new post. You see something on the pulse page and just assume it is not a year old.

I believe nanadade and kwamerazak are spammers. They were fishing for an e-mail address. I see this on Craigslist a lot.
