I like my GO555 without any wheels. I use it primarly to resaw so I got the riser with it. -- In God We Trust |

Jim, I wanna see that saw… it is hard enough to resaw on a Delta cast clone with wheels, without them must be really cool. :) |

I am glad you asked, Bill. I am in the market for a BS myself. I was thinking about the G0555 with a riser kit for resawing also. ‘Course right now I don’t have much to resaw but I am planning on it soon. |

Bill, I bought the 17” Grizz extreme. Much stouter, comes with resaw fence, cast iron wheels, and 12” resaw capacity for not a whole lot more $. Just sayin. -- " I'll try to be nicer, if you'll try to be smarter" gfadvm |

I have a G0555X and love it. I’m somewhat constrained on shop space (I work out of a single-car garage) but if I had more room I probably would’ve gotten a 17” model |

I resaw a lot of 8” cedar and some oak and walnut and have found that the blade selection is all important. Woodslicer blades work well for resawing. -- In God We Trust |

I’m well aware of the 0555 and 0555X. I just had not heard of the 0555LX before. -- bill@magraphics.us |

Its a awesome deal, $524 It just came out couple weeks ago, it has cast iron wheels which is a big plus and Rack-and-pinion guide post. I would sell my G0555P and get this instead. -- shdesign3.com |

I bought the G0555P last year. If the LX was available then, that is what I would have gotten instead. Still, I am very happy with what I got. -- Mike ---- Visit my woodworking blog: http://sawdustnewbie.com |

@ Stephen there are a lot of 14” saws with rack and pinion guide post adjustments on the market though most of them are steel framed. I assume you meant for your comment to be confined to 14” saws since almost all larger saws have this feature. It is also not the lone 14” Delta clone cast saw with a rack and pinion guide post, the Shop Fox has had it for years. |

Looks like I’m the only one here to have the lx, just got it about two weeks ago. It’s a great saw, there’s a few things I’m not too happy with. One is the trunnions, they feel very flimsy. I wouldn’t bother with the stock blade it’s very loud and doesn’t cut all that great. I ordered the Olson 3 blade set with a 3/16”, 1/4”, and 5/8” blades and they’ve been amazing for what I’ve done. 5/8” for resaw and 3/16” for scrolling. There’s not many things to complain about considering the price of the saw. You may end up wanting to replace the tension knob it is a little tough on the hands. I’d definitely rig up something to put a brush on the lower wheel. I didn’t do this right away and my wheels were caked with sawdust as soon as I cleaned them and put the brush on the problem was gone. Good luck with the saw. Btw did you order the riser kit? |

Iggles, no point in dissing the stock blade no manufacturer (even saws that cost 10X as much or more) include a quality blade, the band is there to keep the upper wheel and tension assembly from bouncing around during shipping. Like most quality table saws they would just not include a blade but for this need. As for the trunnions they are flimsy on all the Delta cast clone saws some more than others but Grizzly’s clones are solidly in the middle of the pack. They all could use beefing up though. |

I’ve had my LX for a two weeks now and I’ve been happy with it. I still need to add a brush, rolling base and of course new blades. Stuck between ordering the olson three pack or Timberwolf blades. |

Jacob, I go back and forth between Timberwolf and Woodslicer blades and I am a happy camper. FTIW :) -- Art |

Jacob, the best bands for the money are Lenox and Starrett. The one Olson I really like is the thin gauge bi-metal MVP which are excellent for a small saw like the 555 that can’t get much tension on a blade. If you are inerested in a resaw blade like the Woodslicer you can get the same Atlanta Sharptec stock from Iturra and Sepctrum Supply, both being cheaper than Highland and they weld their own blades and both do an excellent job. I and many others have found the welds on Timberwolf blades to have poor QC and on top of it I am not a fan of high silicon steel blades, they are initially sharp but dull faster than even standard carbon blade. Now the Woodslicer and clones are hardened spring steel and dull even faster BUT their thin gauge make them excellent on small saws like the 555 so they have their place, just no reason to go with silicon steel in my opinion. |

A Huxley I was not “dissing” the blade I was just simply letting him know that the blade wouldn’t do him much good. |

I’m not sure of you ordered blades yet but I can tell you after more time with the Olson blades they work very well. Im not sure what kind of work you’ll be doing but I know I wouldn’t want to be without a blade for redrawing as well as the 3/16” blade. The 1/4” blade is on my saw now and stays on most of the time. I’ve gotten use out of all the blades and all performed well, |

Well my new Grizzly G0555XL arrived yesterday. Acutely it arrived the second time yesterday. A week ago the first one arrived suffering the upside down shipping problem that has been reported here. The truck driver lifted the box so we could check the bottom and parts bags came falling out. I felt it was better to return it than have to wait for replacement parts. I will say Grizzly’s customer service is second to none and I work in a service industry so I have something to compare it to. The second box arrived in worst shape than the first but after we turn the box upside down and found the entire bottom open we looked inside and could not find any missing parts. That was when we noticed how simple it would have been to have packaged the saw the other way, motor up, parts bags and parts on top, Flat side of the saw down. I took it home and have just finished putting it together. Very easy to do. This saw replaced a saw that even after a very careful turn up would not cut true. The G0555xl cut true out of the box. I am waiting for the riser kit which they saw ill be available in September. -- Al Western Vermont |
