Nope, Ryan. Matthais never made one of these, and it is not based on any of his designs.

Hint: While this machine can be used in several applications, it would have only one use in fine furniture, at least in my opinion.

By the way, I am not going to confirm or deny any guesses. You have to watch this weekend’s show to find out. But keep guessing, doesn’t hurt to have a bit of fun with it!

Dave: That muffler bearing comment came pretty close…

Moshup: You don’t know the half of it! In the next several months on Blue Collar Woodworking I’m going to be featuring several “machines” of my own design. Besides this one I show above…

I’ll be showing how to make a table saw sled “super system” which not only makes ultra- accurate cross cut and miter cuts, but also has attachments to make spline joints, dovetails, tenons and micro-adjustable box joints. And it adds something most sleds are missing: an adjustable zero clearance insert.

I also have a separate “box joint cutting machine” that is screw advanced so you don’t have to move the workpiece by hand, and has a unique quick-release feature.

Then I’ll be doing a homemade router lift, a multi-featured drill press table, and what I call my ”super-dooper-joinery-machine” that is a combination of a pattern router, a tenoning machine, a horizontal boring machine and a slot mortiser.

And then we’ll begin making a GIANT three wheel band saw with 16” resaw capacity and 24” throat depth, all out of wood.

So, yah, I have spent a lot of time on Sketchup lately!

I can’t wait to see the builds for your machines. I’m particularly interested in that monster of a bandsaw. Been psyching myself up to take a crack at Matthias’ version but haven’t quite grown my woodworking cahones big enough for that just yet. Your TS sled and DP table will be interesting to see too. I know you aren’t givin it up yet, but the machine you show here looks to me like it could be used for most of the ideas everyones posted so far… still gonna agree with Superdave though. Dave, if you aren’t correct, you should build yours for us

Stumpy, Is there still some space behind the planes? You could add another place for more tools on a sliding pocket door runner ( I don’t know what they are called) for a slide out, Used when the other two doors are open. Just an idea.

Yes, there is room under the plane till. Not a lot, but some. I think the till could be lifted out to reveal the space, but I’m not sure how it could slide out of the way.

Maybe I’ll put some hinges at the top of the till and you can lift it up without removing it.
