@ spunwood …..No, I did not take any of these pics. I wish I had ! (they are from the net) I have always wanted to visit Russia . Perhaps when I retire ? All the Orthodox Churches are very beautiful . The first one is of course the famous one at Novgorod , Built almost a thousand years ago , central to the history of Alexander Nevsky and the Russian people . The wooden Church is in Moscov ( Moscow ) and is one of my favorites too,Don (porchfish) !. Looks like a very complicated band-saw box ,to use one analogy . Happy St. Nevsky Day and happy Thanksgiving Day to everyone here at Lumberjocks and to their friends and families ! |

One of the most stunning examples of wooden architecture would be Kizhi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kizhi or just Google Kizhi images. All wood no nails. |
