Well, it aint gonna bog down unless you start throwing buicks at it. 5hp single phase … thats a lotta motor.

Ha,
Yes, definitely overkill but for around $300 not sure I should pass it up.

The first one looks fairly strange… doesn’t look like the blade can actually be tilted, and there doesn’t appear to be a throat plate. Would have to see it in person to determine. Between the two, I’d rather have the Delta simply because the other one looks like an odd-duck no-name machine that could be a nightmare to work on, and the Delta has a Unifence, which alone is worth $150-$200.

Cheers,
Brad

Thanks,
Passed on the cabinet. It was an old powerkraft but had some hokey shit done on it. no switch, “I just turn it on and off with the breaker”. Fence was barely attached.
Goin to get a delta in a minute.
Thanks for the help

The Delta is a solid saw. It’s a tad overpriced at $400, but not dramatically so.

No such thing as overkill. My 2 table saws are 5hp and 7.5 hp. Never once have I said Oh crap I have too much power.

The funky cabinet saw in Denver was made
for Wards by Mooradian co. They made
some funky radial arm saws too. It was
a Los Angeles company and I see their
equipment on the used market here from
time to time.
