I’m not sure I see a huge difference between books and magazines. if an article is useful in a magazine or a book it is still useful. i understand that they don’t always delve into the same level of detail, but sometiems you don’t need that. also, the magazines expose you to things you may not be actively searching to learn about (that can be good or bad). Finally, books seldom have up to date product reviews. over here, magazines from the good publishers seem to fetch about 30-50% of their original cost. that seems in line with a book. we live in very different places though so I can see how our experiences good differ significantly.
