Use the $1000.00 towards a good 17” bandsaw.

Reason: Look at all the posts about people tweeking their 14” bandsaws. By time they get finished with guides, extentions, tyres, longer blades, time, etc. etc. .....................they could have been into a good 17” Grizzly to begin with. The heft and power of a 17” is night and day over most 14” saws. You could start making your own boards from raw wood right away without all the tweeking. A decent 17” can pay for itself.
