Make it about 1/16” longer and wider if your stone is square and true, many aren’t. If the stone is out of square, use the major dimensions. The bolttom gain or recess for the stone should be kept around 1/8” and the top should accommodate the remainder of the stone’s height. This shallow gain makes it possible for the box to house the stone for its useful life.
