I have a 80 gallon stand up compressor. the line coming from the pump head to the tank has a valve that is adjustable any one know does that adjust the pressure build up settings? ill try to get a picture up asap.thanks for any help.
Typically the only valve between the head and receiver is a check valve so the pressure switch can evacuate the pressure from the line to allow for easier startups. Do you have a picture?
The pop-off can actually be anywhere in the system that sees full pressure. Some are on the tanks. I'd say the valve is a check to prevent bleed back from the tank when the piston gets evacuated by the shutoff for easy startups next time. I would not touch it.
